OK, that was COLD this morning...

Coming in through Pleasanton this morning, for me at 0600 anyway, was 28 degrees. Didn't get over 30 until I was up over the Dublin grade. I too have the snow flake warning in my car but it comes on at 37 degrees.

Many don't notice, but every 11 years the sun goes through another "cycle" of high activity, & low activity. During those highs & lows we have more consecutive years or cool/wet wet weather, or vice-versa. Dependent on what the sun is doing & Earth's orbit which varies a bit also.

Some years we may only have 1 or 2 freezing nights in the whole year, some years 15-20. These extremes tend to coincide with the extremes of the sun cycle. Right now we are coming out of a low-cycle of sun activity, headed for a high in 3-4 years...it will be more warm/hot then...

Uh-oh, I know where this is going...

:wtf Does Al Gore know about this ???

Too late! :laughing

This is proving to be BS as well.

...ALL ham radio people know about this 11 solar year cycle...

hell i just moved to NV and my riding temps are typically 36 degrees or colder...ive even been out on the street and its started snowing! so remember, someone always has it worse!

Has anyone determined the "wind chill" factor?
Is there an equation to determine just how cold I actually am.
My thermo reads Celsius. The lowest I remember this past week was 3.6 degs.
Which is 3.6 degs above freezing, but it doesn't look like 1deg C=1deg F

25 F this morning was doable. Somewhere between the teens and the twenties is the point of "Fuck this shit, I'm driving."

I left extremely late this morning but it was above 50 here. Summer weight gloves. :party

Yup. I was all pissed because my Turtle Fur seems to have crawled away and hidden, but then it wasn't even that cold, and that was at 6:45 AM. Hell, this afternoon I could barely keep myself in my chair at the office - it was beautiful riding weather.

There's a few charts out there. Google is your friend.
One chart I found that lets you calculate it for you.
My only concern is weather (sorry, my bad) it's above or below 35 degrees.
35ºF at 70MPH has a windchill of 16ºF. That's approximately when the heated grips on high, heated seat on high, and heated jacket seem to have a neutral affect. I'm not cold, but I'm not feeling the warmth anymore. Hands aren't going numb. So, when the temps outside are under 35 degrees, I drive.
