on another note, I have tried OKC and POF and am having not too much luck. Have had a couple dates, but as the same as the rest, they were either crazy, overly self focused, or just crazy.....Oh well!

Moike, that is some funny/straight-up real stuff there. Good work - I bet we'd share a laugh or two over a campfire if we met.

But for sure, in my experience online-dating has been a worthless time-suck - either nobody is actually real or I am jus the ugliest som-bitch to ever post a profile because my response rate to sincere introduction notes is about 1%. Maybe this explains why mom tied that porkchop around my neck as a kid so the dogs would play with me.

Cynner, it's not like I get a ton of responses but I finally decided that I should rely a little less on the online persona, cut the shit and agree to meet for a cup of coffee. Again, since I'm not getting a million responses it's fairly easy to be accommodating. That's how I met the neat guy that I've been :sex for the last several months. His online profile was nice. His pictures were okay but in person he turned out to be a lovely human. :)

Skankin, I'm an excessively fluffy single mom. If I have a guy write me that isn't scared by that and isn't a jerk I figure it won't kill me to meet him for coffee. Maybe if I were a hot chick I could get away with being a bitch. :laughing

better than "dating" sites is hobby sites.

got a game you're playing, or a hobby that has interesting people you actualy communicate with, and there's a good chance something can happen.

Met my fiance in an online game where players create "soul" profiles in Hell and souls are bought and sold in realtime stock market simulation. the social element comes from "pimping" your own soul, and getting "pings" ("likes") and scoring is from making money off of good investments. Active souls get more pings and more trading activity.

I found my lovely nerdette through there, and then thru other games we were already playing (I only did the trial of WoW I Swear!) and eventually over time the opportunity and curiosity led to the lunch meeting, then eventually dating, and years later, a wedding date.

The best is having an environment where no one feels "hunted". And there's no financial incentive to flood your inboxes with spam or create bot accounts to lure in suckers. MMO and social games are great for this.

Been having fun on my 3 year man whore-a-thon but think it might be time to find a nice woman and settle down a little. I don't mean get married kind of settle down, just stop being such a fucking whore. I never thought it would get old in my post divorce life but apparently it does. Who knew? :laughing

I suspect 90 % of the women on there is from raided model profiles pages. The web sight makes it's money by communication and photo exchanges between daters.

The effort that is put into censoring email, facebook or any other method of communicating is amazing. Only communication using their network is available. Try putting an email address in a letter, it gets sent back saying rejected content third party email. Same with any links to web sights.

ot in it for any dating, just to look at the pictures and read some of the profiles for fun.

Not to toot my own horn but the same thing happened to me. I met a 22-23 year old whom I thought was a total nerd....turns out she was an oral freak and just wanted screw. It was a fun 3 months but I didnt want a relationship and was getting bored with netflix, wine, mindblown and started to feel bad. :teeth Couple girls my age I've been with since sadly dont compare....I called the younger freak and she's in a relationship now :cry

What is it with girls not into oral sex by the way? Not giving or receiving. How boring is that?

I don't email girls with one photo. Too easy to be a fake plus if it real the girl is too insecure to put up more than one photo.
