Hanging in the shade for a break, heading home.

Boonville banging this weekend with the Mendo County fair, slow crawl thru town. I hit the brewery for a short refreshment, way smaller crowd.

Last gate, No Signage. ??

Pretty much end of road.
The pavement breaks up here, lengths of it have split off, rolling sideways and eroding. Trees close in the road, and it turns a bit @ the purple mark over the creek, and gone.

From the end looking back to the bike, purple mark
4.2 miles from here to the top, new road.

I have been in search of that elusive, light, sound, smell, feels, and fuzzies that make up “Fall” in Ca. The rain did help, put a damp skin on hard pack, low dust, no smells yet, can’t even find a crush and fermentation in place yet. I’ve been told the crush started in July??? due to heat.

Three sport bikes @ the bridge, I stopped for a chat, told them what I was doing, my search.
Dang that kid was fast.
Railing my mini @ 15 over, so easy to do, so stable now, needs a little more wheel balance.

New maps from AAA, has the Old Skaggs Spring Rd. rabbit hole that takes you to the bottom and lake level.

This is the road I started down, and bailed. Kinda obsessed with it now, feeling the need to be there.
One can see vineyards on the far hillside, so farming still happens, I don't know what Rockpile road does for access for that.

I ended up there once due to a wrong turn when I meant to be on Skaggs Springs. Rockpile rd is gated right where it crosses Kelly road. We turned around by Cooley Ranch so I don't know how far Kelly road goes or if it goes all the way through or not.

This is so much art. :laughing
Who needs the basic black & white nude draped over the simple wood chair.
Even John's throttle grip and mirror called to say they're impressed!
(it truly is a very nice shot)

Todays romp to the Yorty Creek launch ramp.

Redwoods, 1/2 mile from the last subdivision, out of Cloverdale

Looking out southeast,

About halfway there, downside of tight grade, into bare vineyards, leaves starting to turn.

Be nice to have a better camera. iphone distorts a lot, easy to carry though

So I was riding up Mount Hamilton and there was a guy on the side of the road with a camera. So I turned around and rode past him again. And I turned around and rode past him again. And then I stopped and chatted with him he was cool.
