2020 KTM 890 Duke R

What you can see: Akrapovic Full Ti system.
What you can't see: Power Commander V with tune, canister delete with dongle, Rottweiler trans saver.
12 pounds lighter with above mentioned changes. Sounds WAY better, makes more power, looks sexier and should be even MORE fun to ride.

What a great bike. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the new trucks and trailers.

I'm also a member of the recent vehicle purchase club. Picked up this '06 Subaru Outback several weeks ago. Its the 3.0 6-cyl, 5 spd auto. loaded with all the options including an indescribably awful 14-year old navigation system. :laughing

Some flooring for my garage. Swisstrax.
Ordered mine in pearl silver, racing red and slate grey. Won’t be doing it in the pattern as shown. It will be mostly silver with the slate grey sandwiched between 2 red stripes

Those KTM 300s keep getting sexier.

Italian bike should have Italian rubber right.
Didn't like the slow geometry feel of the Angle GT's so sport tires from now on

Some car porn. Took out this section of my exhaust...

Because I bought myself a birthday present earlier this month and just got around to installing it today. A lovely hand made titanium double X pipe. It deletes a pair of clean up catalytic converters and drops about 20lbs from the stock piece. Needless to say, it makes more power and is louder. Fortunately, when the muffler valves are closed, it’s still decently quiet. Stock...this thing was like 110db at tailpipes and wide open. I imagine this absolutely 100% for sure at level 9000 is going to be banned from Laguna Seca now.

Fancy welds. Is that legal and smog complaint?

Meh. It’ll still pass. The pair of cats that are monitored by the OBD system are still there so unless a smog tech actually racks up my car to visually inspect the entire exhaust (they don’t), I’ll pass.

What’s the advantage to a double X set up? Seems like you could have done that and kept the baby cats. Aside from sound and 20 lbs lighter, what are you getting out of this mod Rob?

I’m getting around 25hp I suppose. But the cats gotta go for that.

As far as why the double X, I think the only gain is sound. There are several aftermarket setups for the C7. Borla, Kooks, and AWE use a single X like the stock piece. But the most popular one is the Corsa, which is a double X. It’s the most popular because it has the best sound. Then there’s also the Akrapovic, which is only sold as a full cat back system, also uses double X. And everyone says that sounds awesome too...as it should for $6500. John Wilson from LHT Performance tested a bunch of X pipes back to back on his Z06 when he made the titanium one. Pretty much copied Corsa’s layout to eventually make what I got because he wanted the sound of the double X. Though the Borla single X had a slightly better power gain to the wheels over the double X Corsa.

I’m done with mods for the car now. I think between this pipe, throttle body, and the GM airbox (which GM claims 17hp), I should be getting right around 800 at the crank. That’ll do.
