Some new stoppers for the SHO. These are the Wilwood 'Super Light' calipers and will shed 25 POUND of unsprung weight off the front of the car. Not to mention that they will stop better, dissipate heat better and look better. And pad changes will be a 5 minute operation.

Someone is a good sport.

Someone's patience resulted in a much newer, lower mileage vw than she expected to get.

But now abancinator and buellistic have me old Mercedes curious. I remember driving a 1977 BMW years ago for some reason and thinking, "For a 26 year old car this thing is sweet!".

The old 124 diesels are AWESOME!!! I sold mine with 385k on the clock and I still see that old crate arond town.

Dammit. I may have to grab one.

I had an '81 240D 4-speed and I loved it. Smelly, noisy, SLOW as all hell. But it never quit. I may have had to scream 2nd gear up the Altamont in the far right lane with my hazard lights on, but it never missed a beat. Barely broken in at 200k miles. I ended up giving it to my uncle who said the engine grenaded a few months later - my theory is his wife didn't understand shifting and probably blew it up herself. Those cars will last forever. And they're still exempt from any smog rules, so the sky's the limit if you want to mess with it.

Nice! At least you started with decent looking OE calipers, the Fusion Sport stuff makes me think about wheel covers!

Only took 3 months to get them, but I finally got them.

They'll only take you a day to wear out. :D

I was actually surprised I got 7k out of the original set to be honest. Full day at Laguna Seca. Two drag race days with absurd burnouts before each run. Plus all the fuckery in between.

New hobby...

...that my CFO :rolleyes. :twofinger :later
