Radio Controlled Airplanes?

Live in the East Bay. IIRC there's a group that flies (flew, anyway) off the Berkeley Marina on Tuesday afternoons.

Where the hell did that thread go? I can't seem to locate it... so I figured I'd start a new one so we could find the old one and then I'll go post in the old one?!?!?!

Got some new toys, wanted to see what everyone else has been up to!

The new place I fly at:

That's looking north and behind me (where the camera is) is about 1500ft of more concrete to land on. There's an additional runway to the west as well.

Anyone who wants to come up to Sonoma County and drink some beer / fly some planes, I'll bring 'em out and we can have a blast. I don't go on the weekends as the old guys who are the worlds largest fucking assholes fly and constantly like to bitch at me for "flying a foam plane" and to "go to a park and fly it, let us fly ours here." etc. etc.

No joke. I've gotten into it a few times with them, even reminding them that my foam plane was $100 and if they keep flying over my fucking head my $100 plane will hit their not-$100 plane and they'll be unhappy.

So now I just avoid the situation all together and fly during weekdays.

Also picked up a Parkzone P-47D w/ retracts and flaps and it is by far the best flying Warbird I've had. It hands-down outflies the Corsair in every way shape or form, speed, handling, roll rate, climbing, landing, you name it.

Next up on the list I want something fast.... and then after that something aerobatic.

What a great thread. My offer still stands; ANYONE that wants to learn to fly R/C planes- I have a bunch of planes, for varying skill levels, that I can bring out and teach you on.

Antarious- what a great flying site!!! Too bad about the old jerks. Look on the bright side; they are on borrowed time. Soon, you will have it all to yourself!!!!

Fucking old asshats. Some of the "park flyers" with hot motors (brushless) and a good lipo, can haul ass.

Show them this. Then tell them a Li-Po/hot motor combo SLOW STICK, did this:

My plane was faster than theirs all day and I even intentionally flew into the sun to give them free reign to the north with their massive 5ft wingspan balsa gas planes.

I just avoid them now, but fuck they're pricks.
