ROLL CALL JULY 19th THILL ZZ

Ross and I had a great day... he took his new-to-him track bike out for the first time, and his first time at T-Hill. The bikes ran great, and thanks to Hooli, we had no problems getting there- thank you for letting us borrow your truck, you're teh awesome!! :)
The weather was pretty good, considering it's the middle of July! The track was great, although there were a lot of people in B-Group who seemed to have some challenges following the basics... like, don't pass on a yellow flag... :rolleyes The Z2 guys actually had to have a mandatory second rider's meeting... but things settled down after that, and it was a blastie blast out there! Also, thanks to Quinn at Z2 for letting me flog his little 600 around the last run of the day! Those little bikes are fun!!! :teeth

Went out for my first track day yesterday and had probably the best time I've ever had on a motorcycle. My neighbor finally convinced me to go and I took my little FZ6 out... and I'm pretty sure I was the only guy out there on the track in a textile suit, so at least I stood out! I totally have to get a set of leathers now because I am definitely going back. What a blast, and after 16,000 commuter miles on my bike, watching traffic and being careful, the feeling of being able to stick out a knee and hang a butt cheek off the side was awesome!

Thanks to Z2 and all the instructors who gave me great tips.

Welcome to the addiction!:thumbup The street will never be the same, so try not to make it be;) ZZ takes great care of its customers:teeth Law enforcement... not so much :rofl

Just finished my first weekend at the track and it was freakin' awesome.. Such an addiction! Now I truly understand why riders always tell street riders to take their ego and speed to the track... Definitely the proper place for all of that stuff! :thumbup

I had a great 2 days of riding. Seeing Steve and Rob again was very nice. Glad to see you back on the track Steve. You guys missed the better weather on sunday.
Carlo, nice meeting you. It was good you were able to get back on the track after your little incident. Let me know when your planning to go again.
Will post pics later, got to make it to work now. :thumbdown

Great seeing you again Erik. Can't wait till we can hit another one up. Just sad that we'll never be able to ride in the same group again. :teeth

Carlo, glad your incident was minor. Hope to see you at another one.

Gixxergirl, you chose the wrong day to go. :p What did Ross get for a trackbike?

Burke,

Great meeting you Saturday. You're lines went from sketchy to sexy in less than a day - impressive. Next time, plan on staying for the BBQ and some lounge chair racing, and perhaps a day two! Looks like Thanksgiving is the next Thunderhill day - are we BBQing turkey?

I dunno... I heard the weather was pretty brutal on Saturday... high 90's, air you can taste, humid, AND leathers??? bleck.
Sunday was great, had a blast, and discovered I really really really like Turn 2 and Turn 11... oh, Turn 2 is no Carousel, but damn it's fun!! :teeth

Ross got a Honda F3 (?) 600. Used to be some guy's on BARF's race bike... ran great, and he's really like the inline-4 vs. the v-twin he rode previously. We both had a great day at the track, and he ended up completely smokin' my ass AGAIN by the end of the day!! :mad
I had a blast on Quinn's 600 again... I think I'm going to have to get a 600 gixxer for the track... :teeth

Fun day and great people. Good BBQ I shoulda waited for Cody's tri tip instead of a hamburger with mustard that have me heartburn. I finally figured out Ratter's pedobear joke ( I was so wasted by the heat I could hardly move) and I'll get ya buddy, count on it.

ZZ put on a good show. Ian and I had some fun till his bike broked. Great pic of me on the front straight in a lazy tuck.

Then there was the yellow one, looked like a GSXR. I was watching from the pits. He was out in the dirt, had it up standing next to it, then it dropped down hill. Man, that's a tough day.

Yeah that was my buddy in group C. He was pretty pissed comin back to the pits. It was his first time riding Thill and he was telling me before the crash he kept coming into 5 too hot. and the crash time he went in too hot with a wide line and fixated on the right candy cane then went in. Hes all good though. Bike isnt that bad at all (visually)

Cool, well if he's ok and the bike is too, then that's as much as you can ask from a get off at the track.
We live to fight another day. :ride

Wow. What an exhausting weekend. I came home Sun eve and crashed at 8pm. I had a great time, as always. It is always a blast dicing it up with some of you guys. Thanks ZoomZoom for an excellent weekend. And thanks Shawn for reigning in the crazies on Sunday.

This was my second time taking Cody to a trackday. I think he likes it. Here is is sitting next to Matt's desmodici from his first trackday. He has good taste. :)

Great weekend, wish I could remember everybodies names!!!!!! great BBQ always nice to run out of beer, then run out of Tequila, then run out of Vodka!!!! Sunday morning was a fun time :rofl

Spend Saturday getting Schooled by Ken Hill all i can say is worth EVERY penny. I will write up in detail on the other thread.

I was not signed up for Sunday but I decided to stay and practice all the great stuff I learned on Saturday. Did not notice to much "hooligan" riding in A group, actually had a lot of open track to work with. Sorry for being a moving road block to the fast guys and girls out there:teeth The SV only go's so fast on the straight pinned in 6th:ride

Decided to give the race starts a miss on Saturday and Sunday, did not want to spoil a great weekend by messing up in Turn 1.
Sorry we missed saying goodbye to most of the Z2 folks, Shawn and David thanks for the safe and fun riding enviroment and providing all those lovely mixers for the vodka!!!!:party

As Arni says "I'll be back":thumbup
