I agree that Android is MUCH better than the pre-Jellybean days.

I have been with Android as long as there has been Android. I got the G1 on T-Mobile when Google was putting their toe in the water to test the game. Never had a complaint except for the lack of updates for older devices, which I primarily blame on the Carriers.

I'm skipping the S6, and getting the G4. Loved my G3, and the teaser with f/1.8 camera (low light here I come) and leather back looks awesome. Plus, I miss knock knock.

While I'm not crazy about the price, I don't care about the SD card as the phone seems to have plenty of storage. I will probably replace my GS5 sooner or later.

That's the one part I really hate is the slowness of carriers deploying their customized updates. Verizon was pathetically slow but TMobile is not too bad.

Got an S6 today. Best phone Samsung has ever made. It is as smooth, if not smoother than my iPhone 6. They're definitely leaning in the right direction. It DOES NOT HAVE your typical TouchWiz interface lag. The quality of the phone (hardware and software) overall is amazing. This says a lot since I am really not a Samsung Touch wiz kind of guy.

How long does the battery last? And how much was it otd?

The battery life is better than my iPhone 6. In comparison, if the iPhone 6 Plus is a 10, the iPhone 6 is a 6, I would rate the Galaxy S6 an 8.

The price was $749 for the 64gb and it came out to just a little over $800.

Butt dialing, front pocket dialing, jacket pocket dialing, laying on top of my desk at work dialing, in an empty pocket of my backpack dialing........

Every company turns out a clunker now and again. My S5 Active is a piece of shit and I hate it. Others may have wonderful experience with their phones, but mine sucks rancid smegma off a dead serial killer's balls.

It could very well be bad hardware, but have you tried a burn-it-down-to-the-ground factory reset? I had very similar problems with a Motorola phone, and doing that solved the issues 100%.

Anyhow, the S6 Edge looks pretty cool. Built-in wireless charging is a nice addition, though I'm not sure it is worth trading an SD slot and removable battery for it.

Curious why you initially switched from the iPhone to the S6?

There are so many GREAT phones in the 200 dollar range that aren't subsidized it's not even funny
Truth. I bought my kids some $150 Alcatel phones that work great. The cameras, screens and memory sizes aren't the best, but then they can outright destroy 6 of them and still not reach the price of my Note 4.

$800, fuck me, so glad phones aren't my thing.

All relative man.. I've spent (on the low end) $2300 on camera lenses that I rarely used.

A phone is a tool (for most) that they use everyday. I'll gladly pay the premium for a good product.

:thumbup

It's definitely all relative. Some could argue why buy a $30,000 Goldwing, when you can buy an SUV for the same price.

Yea it probably is the most used electronic, but man, something about paying that much for a phone just doesn't sit right. Even with all it can do (posting from one right now) and how much I use it.

I hear you. But considering what our phone does nowadays compared to what they did just a short 5 years ago... I agree that the price point jumped astronomically recently, whereas it seems like other parts of tech had gone down in price (TVs, PC components, etc.)

A typical phone today has so much power, one can actually work out of them. Most consumer PC displays don't run 2560x1440, but yet that same resolution can be found on a 5.5" screen! I've got a total of 160GB of storage on my phone, which is insane since the original iphone came with 4GB. Your typical phone with LTE can rival download speeds of the fastest home broadband networks. The list goes on. The technology has been coming out at lightning speeds..

IF you had told me just 3 years ago, that I could stream PS4 games from my home PS4, to my phone at work while using a PS4 controller bluetooth connected to my phone, I would have thought you were nuts.
