Maybe you should just buy a camera. :laughing

I do professional photography on the side. I have many cameras, but it is not something I carry on a daily basis - yet my phone is.

As someone with a young child, I take every opportunity to snap random pics and videos of my daughter.

While you can argue that I just have a camera on me at all times -- it is just not possible - but the phone is always with me.

Hey stan, teach me how to stream my PS4 to my phone. I hear you can do it, but don't know how and too lazy to research teh googles.

Sideload remote play. It's an .apk bundled with xperia phones, but dudes have extracted it.. (you will first have to establish a connection to your PS4 via your home network before you can stream over the 'net)

To get the PS4 controller working on the phone, you can either hookup via USB OTG, or root and get sixaxis for BT support.

I'm guessing it can only be sideloaded via apk bundle since it isn't in the Play Store? Also, does it require root access? I'm gonna most likely have to wait awhile since the S6 is very new. I might try this on my Nexus 6 tho

well, if i'm telling you to sideload, that usually means it's not on the playstore. :p

It's a sony sanctioned app specifically made for xperia android devices.

the money I spent on my note 3 is probably some of the best money I've ever spent. this thing is my computer

Do you have any small-size quality cameras then?

I want a Sony RX100 camera instead of a Samsung S6!

(Might still have to buy both though.. unfortunately)

My compact camera is a Sigma dps2. Not really a consumer camera though. The RX100 is fantastic, that is what I recommend.

No point buying it since all the advantages are gone, no reason to get it over apple now except for the OS which you can get on another manufacturer.

Jeff, still liking the S6? Any thing you don't like?

I'm getting the new phone itch and the G4 can't come soon enough!!

Love it Stan. Honestly the best phone I've owned. And I'm sure you know that I've owned A LOT of phones. Including the G3 which I loved. I got the 64gb one. Download google keyboard or Swiftkey as the stock Samsung keyboard sucks. Everything else is pretty awesome. Battery life isn't the best, but it's above average. I'd say its about the same or slightly better than the G3s battery life. The first 10% of battery drains VERY quickly, but after that it slows down quite a bit. Not sure if that was done intentionally. If so, I'm sure a software update will fix it.

I know you and I are the same when it comes to phones. :)

As for battery life, you know how it is - every new android device needs a few days for the app cache to be built, files to be indexed, then the battery life will be good.

I would have bought the S6 if it had MicroSD support. I have a 128GB card nearly filled with of vids of my toddler.

Storage has never been an issue for me. I DO take a lot of pictures of my wife and son, but probably not nearly as much as you do. My wife has an iPhone 6+ 128gb and she fills it up all the time. The good thing about Androids is it's always just a single plug and play to transfer files onto your laptop or OTG USB.

I do like the fast charge on the S6 as it seems to be the fastest I've seen amongst all phones. A full charge from 0 to 100 only takes like 50 min or so. I'm gonna buy the wireless charging adapter.

Oh one more thing, Samsung has a built in theme chooser (like the OPO). Pretty cool

Yeah fast charge is awesome. That's my favorite feature of the note 4.

I'm probably going to pick up the HTC M9 next week. I've been really happy with my M7 minus the crappy camera. Supposedly the new camera sucks but now it's a software issue that can be updated and not a hardware issue. Plus now it comes with an SD slot. ;)

I was looking at the S6 but I just really hate Samsung's interface, the HTC Sense just works a lot better for me.

I did a ton of research on the M9. It's pretty much the exact same thing as the M8 except worse battery life and crappy Camera. The new Touch wiz that Samsung has is a night and day difference. It doesn't feel bloatware heavy and the bloat ware apps that do come with the phone (which isn't as much) can be easily disabled from the app drawer instead of having to go to the app manager. Real fluid like iOS

So a little off topic, but last week I bought an ipad mini for work. There are several apps I need and can only get on the ipad. Nevertheless, I have been using the ipad for a week or so and while it is a nicely built platform there are several major issues that would prevent me from owning an iphone.

It really surprises me when anyone tries to compare the android eco system with the OS. OS is years behind the functionality of android to the point that it really not even a close contest.

A few items that drive me crazy on OS.

No back button
No menu button
No multitasking
No widgets (major drawback)
No duel screens (home screen and all apps) (OS only allows you to view all the apps or to put them in a folder)
Business apps seem to much more costly on App Store over Play Store, with fewer trial versions
Complete lack of customization
Did I say no Widgets!!!!

On the pros:
Nice build quality
Nice price ($220 for a 16 gb)
Like idea of lightening cable being able connect both ways
Lots of accessories
Good camera and video editing software

Overall I am not impressed with the ipad software and if I did not really need it for work I would have taken it back.
