Or a little spray bottle. You can get a little pocket sized one to carry around if you plan to take pictures.

Best way to learn, play and play and play.... read about something, go try it.... then try the last few things you read about too...

I'm still learning but when I was recently purging my photo library I noticed a marked improvement in 12 months of playing.

I'm a big fan of Bryan Peterson's books. "Understanding photography" in particular will have you shooting in full manual mode in no time. He breaks down technical stuff in easy to understand sections and also includes the camera settings with all of his shots. All of his books are awesome IMHO.

I like the Scott Kelby's books. Easy to read and pictures of the techniques and examples of photography. He also has an internet show called "photoshop user tv". I learn a lot from that show.
