Skully P-1 what is your take on it?

I've got one: It's a bit noisy but it's comfortable and the rear-view system works great for lane splitting and seeing the area directly behind you for 200' or so; not so great for long distance viewing, but a nice feature none the less.

You can't wear polarized sunglasses with it though because the plastic rear-view prism turns black.

Cool :thumbup

Have you tried it on a bike with a more aggressive riding position? I would imagine with your head tilted forward, you'd see more sky than road.

You can't wear polarized sunglasses with a lot of visors without getting distortion.

Re the helmet, I'm waiting for the manufacturer that already makes a helmet I like to add electronics to it. I wouldn't buy a different helmet based on the electronic gizmos. But it think it's no more than 5-10 years max before all the big guys have high tech models for sale.

I've worn it riding my Duc. In the normal riding position the view is good, not much different than on the Adventure, but tucked it's as useful as regular side view mirrors: not.

I really think this would be much easier for end-user to commit to purchase if it sold as a visor only add-on to major helmet brands, considering that many can't fit their head into a 1 type of helmet or another. Tying technology to a single helmet dismisses a fair bit of the market right away. I for one would not wear a poor fitting helmet just because of the technology in it.
In addition it would remove the requirement of SNELL, DOT etc.. certifications

I'll sit back and wait until google's wifi-net turns into Skynet across the state so there isn't any need for the phone...and also until the technology advances up to the level as seen in the Korean 'anime' "Wonderful Days". Or, if that's not your thing, think Akira's motorcycles. Sorry, out of examples.

Nope.

I ride to get away.

This. I only recently tried riding with music after 28 years on a bike and am still undecided. That's my personal time don't bother me.

Nice to see someone is finally coming to market. i've been using mine for the past 4 years

I won't be buying into that marketing.

Paying attention works.

Course riders that don't pay attention, are going to be thinking a devise is needed.

I don't think the rear facing camera would be of much use to me. I would love a forward facing one that could record so I could ditch the GoPro.

I always listen to music when I ride and I often need to be available by phone, so my SENA is necessary on my helmet. Having it all integrated would be pretty great. I can actually see buying this helmet if it works well.

Do you pay attention to your rear view mirrors? I do. I know not everyone does (and I'll try not to judge...), but if you are one of the riders that uses them, the Skully is like mirrors but better.

I don't think the rear facing camera would be of much use to me.

See above. If mirrors are of use to you, the RV camera in the Skully is of more use to you. Speaking from experience with a prototype.

To answer one of the other questions, I believe the helmet is ECE. If it's not, it's SNELL. I can't remember for certain, but it's definitely one of the higher approvals (and of course the worthless DOT cert as well). Everything but the electronics are made in a very reputable helmet factory.
