So Who Rode in Today?

The new tires need more bar input to set the line. I let a couple of lbs of pressure out since they were +5-10% or so yesterday in the heat.

PG&E is doing work and for the second day in a row I come around a corner to a truck cutting across the double yellow on a blind corner :facepalm

I deleted it, yesterday on the way home a lowboy hauling a big cat had to cut the lane to make the curve just as I came around. That's why they dont allow over 45 foot trucks. They do it all the time though.

About to ride home....

Pre-soaking two cooling towels for under the mesh jacket. ...

@Joe_13 how did those towels work?

i rode in today, but it was around noon instead of around 9. it was hot! maybe i'll soak my shirt before heading home today :laughing

The cooling towels are awesome.
Keep in mind, the more airflow you get, the quicker the evaporation. So, on a really hot day, they'll get dry in 20-30 minutes, and you'll want to re-soak it.

I open the wrist cuffs with the back and armpit vents on my aerostich and the wind keeps me happy as long as I’m moving!

The quicker the evaporation, the quicker the death.

Seriously, while it feels nicer to have lots of airflow on a hot day, it can very quickly dry you out too much. I learned this going through Death Valley in summer - safer to keep your jacket closed and arrive at your destination drenched in sweat inside your jacket and feeling gross, than have the vents open and arrive dry but feeling faint from dehydration. Or not arrive.

Obviously even the hot Central Valley ain't quite 120+ high desert, but it still applies.

And nothing beats an Aerostich silk scarf soaked in cold water.

😡 pg&e continues to attempt gross negligence in causing accidents along marsh creek. i've become accustomed to their antics

in today's installment, i come around a blind corner to see a pg&e truck stopped dead in the road, talking out of his window to his buddy on the side of the road. good thing traffic was paying attention because we all had to get on the brakes HARD.

yesterday while riding in i was following a pg&e truck who was crossing double yellows and forced a car onto the dirt shoulder. i was already giving him almost five seconds of following distance because i thought for sure i would get tangled up in his fucktardness.

if i see leo on marsh creek or in clayton today i am going to stop and talk to them. it's just a matter of time until someone winds up dead because of them

Call in a complaint with the truck number.

I do not fuck around with douchebags driving company vehicles like assholes.

In for me now is a place 2 miles from home where I do a little volunteer stuff, so yeah I rode in. I think I posted to this thread more than any other back when in was a job 50 miles away.

I rode from Fremont to Napa to CA-128 to winters, CA and back. About 200 miles or so. An awesome way to spend a Sunday. Posted this pic in intro, but here is it again. Taken from near Lake Berryessa.

hopefully everyone had a safe and (not so) boring ride in this morning... :ride

I thought the lady next door at work caught me jumping off the speed bump and as I pulled up on the sidewalk to park she said "good morning" in a cheery tone like usual. I apologized for my behavior - she said as long as I was being safe she didn't mind at all :dunno - She's a real nice lady..
