The Home Grower's Thread

Did some trellising today. Outdoor plants are coming along, but what's funny is how the mullein blew up around it. I like it too much to get rid of, might try transplanting it when the ground softens up from rain.

I wish I had the space and sun for a proper tree like ya got there Byke. I love out door!

Can't wait to sample it ;)

I'm in Arkansas but can remotely monitor my plant via Wyze cam.

Really excited to try it too. Curious to see how well the lemon comes through.

Outdoor is the best, except for the stress of rain from here on, but you really only need one decent sized plant scratch the itch. People dog outdoor, but if you keep your plant count low and liquid feed like indoor, you can get some good frosty going on.

wow thats a fooqn monster tree byke

do u get like 1-2 lbs off that alone?

I'm thinking four'ish, but I need to hit it hard on feed over the next two weeks and it also depends on weather and resistance to powdery mildew, since it looks like we're going to get some rain on Monday. Some people just let it be and run it through a wash when it comes down, but I can't stand it and constantly pluck it, don't care if it yields less. Anyway, this is kind of nothing. A buddy has a photo of a crop he worked on where he's standing next to at least a 12ft tall nice round bush, but he was in an area with a much longer season.

I had o build a little green house to keep my potted out door girls from getting morning fog and the associated rots from it. It works ok. A preemptive spray with "Green Cure" aka potassium bicarbonate, will help keep PM at bay. I think only dummies dog out door now. No lighting system beats the sun. The market may require perfect porn quality buds but I don't. Hippy dirt farming is my speed.

daaaaaaamn

have you guys ever tried washing the buds with like water/lemon/baking soda right after cutting/trim it then hanging to dry?

i know its weird but its not supposed to take trichomes from the plants, and from what I hear its exactly like washing your salad from the store before you eat it.

Have never tried it, but a guy I know had some hardcore pm issues, to the point that his pics looked like he was literally growing a white strain. He saved it by using a wash. I won't even use Green Cure at this point because I swear it makes it worse when the plant is in bud and is able to store water in a bunch of nooks and crannies as it raises the humidity inside and around the entire plant. From a bag-appeal perspective, I'm not sure there's any benefit to a wash if you're going with a heavy/commercial trim. I wish he'd have done a side-by-side wash/no-wash through cure and trim.

Holy crap water curing???

The washing kinda makes sense you see alotta dead bugs and dirt leftover in the wash buckets

anyone willing to give some of their homegrown away? I'd like to conduct a quality experiment!

Sharing is half the fun! I don't have anything from this year yet, be another month or so, but have some grinds/smalls from last year's grow that would be good for joints. Think there might be some other misc from last year. The high tends to be the same as weed ages, but shoot a pm if you want to QA it.

I quit for 6-7 weeks for new job, and the job I got didn't even drug test me fml

But it's eye opening how much $$$ I was splurging on da high grade

May I ask how does one get to grow huge trees such as that? Usually I start from clone and bring them out around mid-June when they are around 1~2 feet high and the biggest I have ever gotten them to grow was almost 6 feet. Do you start them indoors and bring them out when they are fairly big / mature?

I think you're doing good if you're planting a 1-2ft tall clone in mid-June and end up with a 6ft tall plant. If you want bigger, then get that clone 1-2ft tall in mid-May. And of course whatever you're using for a container plays a role. Digging out the ground and filling in with nice soil is best. Beds are good. Fabric pots are good too as long as the roots can get through. You can undersize the container, but you'll have to increase your schedule to keep it growing. I grew some 5-6ft tall plants in 20g pots, which is really like 4-5ft tall plants, but I they needed either water/tea/feed literally everyday.
