The NHL Thread, 2012/2013 season

My friend wound up not getting the tickets for the opener, so I watched from home and wished I had been there. Full house, loud and ready for hockey. The announcers were derps. They seemed shocked that the fans knew when to cheer and when to get on the refs. :laughing I think they forget that the Sharks are a huge hit in this region and we're pretty knowledgeable fans. LOLz

How was the Bull's home opener?

I did not go to the home opener but went to the game the next day. It was a lot of fun and would recommend going to check a game out. I know I will be going to a lot more. They have a beer garden right behind one of the goals which was a lot of fun.

NHL/NHLPA are set to meet on Thursday to which it's expected the NHLPA will propose it's counter offer. As it stands right now, the NHL proposal of 50/50 plus contract tweeks and restrictions would include a FULL 82 game season with end of season concluding in late April as opposed to usual mid-April.

NHLPA's counter proposal has to be in the ball park of what the NHL is will to work with, if not.....the largest window in this whole situation will close.

Good to hear about the Bulls. I actually don't know too many people from SF who watch any hockey. Maybe I know the wrong people :dunno Regardless, good to see another team bolster a robust hockey region. Gonna have to check it out. Are tickets expensive?

===========

I'm rooting for a complete hockey season. Our players aren't getting any younger and our window of opportunity of winning is closing fast. Hell, even if it is a shortened season, I rather have our guys play in San Jose rather than abroad. With stars like Joe Thornton and Dan Boyle on limited years, who knows when the next time we'll get to watch talent like theirs on a regular basis.

Well, the NHLPA brought 3 separate counter proposals and placed them in front of Gary Bettman et al........according to Sydney Crosby, Bettman and crew turned down all three in a matter of 10 minutes.

Bettman is been quoted as saying with regard to the proposals and overall interaction, "a step backwards...........we are not speaking the same language.........we were done in an hour because there was really nothing there.......disappointed."

Anyone down for action on whether the season is flat out cancelled at this point?

Most accurate statement in the whole thread. :thumbup

Do tell me, just how we're not. Serious question. Why do you guys think Sharks fans don't know the game ??

Not that I give two shits what you think, but I'm curious why either of you think what I said is funny.
