The NHL Thread, 2012/2013 season

Ready for the news on Torres.........

Torres out rest of WCSF

Per Brodie Brazil:
Official: Raffi Torres suspended for the remainder of the series. #sjsharks #lakings

Shanahan: "Rather than hit Stoll through the core of his body, Torres took a route that makes Stoll’s head the principal point of contact"

:bs seems to me there's only foul play if there's an injury.

Apparently, throwing an elbow and sticking out a knee is okay. Fuck intent, so long as no one is injured, right? :jaded

Try watching the explanation video, one of the better jokes I've seen all year.

While we agree that Torres might make initial contact with the shoulder, that is a glancing blow. And in fact, the head is the principle point of contact.
:rofl

Cmon, really? That's the best you can come up with? What a joke.

Funny how it's the series and not X amount of games. If he was suspended 6 or more games he could appeal. This way, he can't appeal.

Yeah but they just reduce from 6 to 3 or something. They don't ever let you off the hook. All bullshit anyway.

Wow.

Just wow.

Just got home from work and caught the end of the 3rd period....

Also got wind of the BS Torres suspension.

F**k the refs, fixed f**king game. I give up. Bull s**t.

I like the 25,000 missed calls by the refs, but they happen to call one with under 3:00 left and then call one after it hits a Kings player.

Unreal. F*** the NHL, I'm so pissed off.

I agree they were shitty calls

I agree the pk was horrid

that was couture's worst game I've ever seen him play. if he clears that puck on the 5 on 3, sj probably wins the game.

great game, great win. well done by Couture to bounce back from a bad game and an injury to score the winner. beauty of a goal too. I could tell how bad Quick wanted to steal that game. Glad the boys denied him.

one thing I observed: unlike playoffs in the past, in game 3 the Sharks showed they have another gear, another level to up their game. They increased the intensity, the physicality (w/o Torres no less), the puck possession...everything. Good playoff teams do this.

Honestly, I didn't know Sharks had this physical side. When they come out firing on all cylinders and playing high energy hockey, it's exciting to watch. Even Patrick Marleau has been hitting more this playoffs than any other season I remember.

When Couture got hurt and limped to the locker room, my heart sank. Really glad to see him come back out and finish with a gwg.

Excited for Game 4. Go Sharks!
