Haha, very nice.

Couple more signings;

Juri Hudler signs with CGY Flame(ers) for 4yrs/16M contract.

Carey Price re-signs with the Habs for 6 more years, money information not released [yet]. EDIT:In typical insider fashion, the Habs haven't released financial information, but RDS's Renaud Lavoie spills the beans; Price contract worth $39M

The commish, Gary Bettman, has presided his authority over Raffi Torres' appeal of a 25-game suspension from this years playoffs. Originally handed the 25-gamer by Brenden Shanahan, Bettman has reduced the punishment from it's current 12 games, to 8 games.

Fuck Torres.

Nice retweet!! I'm a big fan of The Wiz, even though he fucked my fantasy teams last year.

=====

Not sure who won the Buf/Dal trade. Ott had a great year last year, and Roy has potential to be a good center. But I do like seeing Ott on the East Coast; means we'll see him less. Fuck Steve Ott.

Olli Jokinen signs with WPG Jets for 2yrs/9M contract.

Count this as a blessing if you wish, your time to witness a future HOFer on SJ ice has come true.

Jarmomir Jagr has (surprisingly) signed a 1yr/4.55M contract with DAL Stars.

already saw him play, with super Mario and the pens the 1st year the Shark Tank opened...:cool I remember it vividly

sj and pit tied 3-3. Lemieux had one and Jagr had one as well...that day I learned what 'cherrypicking' is. :laughing Mario mostly. Jagr and him were just so big, so talented it was amazing they could ever be stopped. it was like the Sharks defense barely held on for dear life every time they attacked.

the sad part is, these deals still dont make the Wild a contender.

To piggyback, two big name UFAs and undoubtedly the most media covered, have both signed with Minnesota.

Parise and Suter both become Wild players after signing identical 13yrs/98M contracts. Both players will be age 40 when these contracts expire.

hey if you're going to do it, do it big. who knows if all the moves over the last two years will put MN closer to the cup? One thing in their favor is their start last year: they were the best team in the league until the 1/3 point. then injuries and never really getting back on track took them down. new year, new possibilities.

Heatley-Koivu-Parise 1st line looks downright lethal on paper. if they can re-sign Foster then their defensive 1st pairing looks stout as well. Backstrom will have to pick up his game again, and he is more than capable of doing it. And don't discount Konopka; the guy can play on the PK as well as throw down.

the whole northwest division is becoming really tough.

SJ rumor: Montreal is interested in Havlat. If DW moves him, I'm assuming it'll be a move to free up some cap space. either Nash or Semin. I'm hearing Clb still wants Couture in a trade for Nash, so that's a deal-breaker. Semin is an offensive force but soft on defense: unfortunately he'd fit right in the SJ locker room.

Still no center depth, no depth in defense. They have 43 million locked up on forwards alone. Gilbert and Suter are going to log a lot of minutes. Deeper teams will expose them. Looks pretty grim after first unit.

Poor Devin, lol. Back in '08, I predicted Seto to become the next captain of the Sharks. Clearly that will never happen.....for any team.

Larry Robinson signed on as Sharks assistant coach, defense and PK.

1) this instantly makes our PK and defense better.

2) he's a long-time friend of Doug Wilson

3) if things start to derail like mid-season last year, a coaching change can happen seamlessly. not that I'm wanting McLellan to get fired. but it's nice to have that option.

DW practically has one major event each off season, last year it was Brent Burns, the year before that Hjalmarrson offer sheet then signing Niemi. This year Larry Robinson is THE acquisition, I'm very excited about Robinson coming to town.

Brodie Brazil ‏@brodiebrazilCSN

Regarding Robinson as ‪#sjsharks‬ 'associate' vs. 'assistant' coach; likely due to great credentials & higher responsibilities

Great signing. He brings winning mentality and experience. Comes with an impressive resume too: Hall of Fame, 9x Stanley Cup Champion (6x with Habs as player, 1x as Ast. Coach, 1x as Head Coach, 1x as consultant), and experience with multiple teams in multiple positions.

Sometimes I have this love/hate relationship with Doug Wilson+company, but you gotta give credit when credit is due. :applause
