The NHL Thread, 2012/2013 season

surprised?

Not at all, in fact I'm waiting for the eventual cancellation of the entire season. Even if there were a condensed season, I'd feel cheated as a fan...82 game seasons are not only to showcase perseverance and longevity, but proper management of roster depth.

In the end, Bettman and Fehr will be viewed as equal douches opposed to savior and villain.

Looks like the freebie game at HP is all sold out already. I predict the NHL losing a lot of fans to this lockout. Just as it was really picking up momentum out here.

Took the day off today and watched a rebroadcast of game 7 (rangers v capitals).

Hopefully they can work something out

It sold out in under 5 minutes. Kind of makes you wonder if it will make any difference that they are locked out. Fans in San Jose are apparently chomping at the bit for hockey!

With that said, I got my 2 tickets as a season ticket holder. But was unable to get a pair of tickets for a friend of mine. Anyone score 2 tickets they are willing to give away? We didnt expect it to be that insane/popular..

The sudden sellout was handled very well (IMHO) by the Bulls upper-management.

Hello Friends,

This is Joe Wagoner, CEO of the SF Bulls. Please allow me to address the numerous comments and phone calls we’ve been receiving about ticket availability and allocation for the exciting hockey game at HP Pavilion on Dec. 17th. Here is how the ticket allocation worked for this event: Last Thursday, the first ticket offering went to all Sharks full-season ticket holders and mini-plan holders, as well as Bulls full- season ticket holders, 18-pack and 12-pack holders. Approximately 75% of the tickets were claimed on this initial offering. Next, tickets were offered to Bulls six-game plan holders and group leaders. This left approximately 10% of the tickets remaining to be claimed. An email with the link to claim free tickets was sent yesterday to both the Sharks and Bulls databases. As you can imagine, these are very large databases. It would not be unrealistic to assume that less than 5,000 free tickets would be claimed immediately by a databases of over 500,000 people. I can confirm that the remaining tickets were all claimed within five minutes of the offer going live at 10am this morning. The Bulls did request a very small allotment of tickets to offer fans that buy six-game ticket plans and larger between now and the HP game on Monday. With that said, we have less than 100 tickets available to fans who buy plans today and tomorrow. With all this said, we could not be more excited for the event on Monday. We are happy that our season ticket holders (who are the only group that actually paid for this game via their Bulls season tickets) are able to experience the energy of HP. Additionally, we are thrilled to be to be able to thank our mini-plan holders and group leaders for believing in the Bulls and supporting local hockey.

If you would like to ask me questions about this in person, please feel free to stop by the Cow Palace guest services table tomorrow night during the Bulls home game. It’s Thirsty Thursday and guarantees to be a fun time for all.

Warmest Regards,

Joe Wagoner

Haha I was all set and ready to go at 9:59 as soon as the clock struck 10 I was a clicking machine... After a few attempts I stopped to think, and it was pretty simple.

4 tickets a peice for both bulls & sharks season ticket holders will take care of a good amount of supply before it ever gets to the free for all.

Still planning on going, if I had to buy tickets so be it... I just want to see some hockey.

Wrong. I could only get 2 tickets that matched my sharks seats.

I was a part of a 13-man group buying Sharks 10-pack (aka 130 tickets sold) and we only got 2 tickets total.

But going to the game last Friday was fun. Thanks for setting that up Dan. I made the mistake of driving from San Jose to San Francisco at 530pm via 101. It took me 2 hours to get there and I missed the entire first period. We got our ass handed to us, but the Bulls were able to score one goal so we could toss the stuffed animals onto the ice LOL. They gave everyone a "come-anytime" ticket, though I'm not sure why. It was fun just to get out and watch a game. I'm definitely planning on going again, just maybe not on a Friday night :|

Sorry if I'm behind the times, but it was recently brought to my attention that Larry Block, the referee from Slap Shot, had passed away in early Oct. Hell of a performance Mr. Block.

Saw pics from the tank at puck drop. Not too many people at the game:( I would totally have gone if I could have gotten tickets. Ticket hoarders. :x

That sucks. It's especially annoying to see those tickets on sale on ebay or craigslist.

Saw this earlier this morning and got a crack:

Count on the next announcement of cancellations to be the full 2012-13 season. The 2004-05 season has wrapped up on Feb 16th.

Holy shit did you see that awesome NHL game last night?

ME NEITHER.
