The Browns were pretty good when they had that lacrosse player from Syracuse....

Lerner was tool that knew nothing about football but saw himself as a "hands on" owner. I hope the new guy does better.

My mother was from Cleveland, she saw that 2000 Ravens championship as rightfully belonging to Cleveland, despised Art Modell, was crushed in 86 & 87 (but was thoroughly happy when the Bronco's got thumped those years), and never quite understood why I liked the Raiders, but happily decorated my room with a Raiders pennant when I was in 6th grade, but she was more of a "Cleveland" fan than a football fan.

The one thing never discussed, though, was "The Tribe".
 
All these years and the Browns have never made it to the Super Bowl.

LOL, nope, one of each. We're New York Giants, we may have one of the best Offenses in the NFL, but we still know Offense is for pussies. We have 14 D-Line, 10 Linebackers and 18 guys in the Secondary right now. :laughing

Well, to their credit, The Cleveland Browns are tied with the New York Giants for 3rd all time in Championships with 8.

Of course four of those Championships are from the AAFC, which challenged the NFL as a competitor in the 40's. It ran for 4 years and the Browns won all 4 Championships before being absorbed by the NFL, so maybe they don't count as much...

The Browns haven't won an NFL Championship since 1964, but they won 3 in the 50's after chewing through their own AAFC, so that's something to hold on to. I've just always assumed there is something fucking wrong with Ohio where they can't run a decent football franchise.

Dang they haven't even won a playoff game since 1994, though of course that team later became the Baltimore Ravens.

Still not as bad as the Bengals and Lions though...

Course, then i read that Plaxico may go back to the Steelers. :facepalm

That will be a good shot in the arm for our offense. Er, or leg, for that matter.

Not really. He's not very hateable anymore. He just kind of shows up and isn't in any way interesting. Doesn't shoot his mouth off, doesn;t make any big plays. After the Cowboys dropped him it FINALLY broke his swagger.
