The Official 2016/2017 NFL Thread

The AFC East is NE and then a bunch of Clevelands. :laughing

Of the three longest NFL playoff win droughts, two of the teams are NFC North. Wickety wickety weak.

NFC North is two teams, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. The other two division teams don't matter, utter trash. Browns haven't won a playoff game since 1994, Bengals haven't won a playoff game since 1991. But hey, that division is still awesome, right? :wtf :laughing

Psst...AFC East put two teams in the playoffs this season. Both of them spanked the Steelers with double-digit margin of victory wins. :teeth

Note: Pulling for Steelers this weekend

Fins fly to Seattle, fly to New England, finally get a home game but wait there's more! Next they get a short week and fly to Cincy for a Thursday game. No bragging about Thursday games allowed. :x

Let's go Steelers! Squish the Pats. Loose your three-headed monster once again.

Prediction? 54-year-old James Harrison sacks Brady as time expires to seal a Steelers' win.

excellent discourse :laughing

I want Billichek to retire with Brady and leave everyone else alone

The Fins did have a nice turn around this year and started looking competitive. If they can keep this going into next year, they might grow up into a threat, but they aren't a real football team yet, just a spoiler for competitors in the regular season. Tannehill did put his first winning season together this year, which is good, but I'm just not sure if he is THE GUY.

Tannehill is fine, defense is a sieve...still say Fins LB corps has less talent than Giants LB corps in the battle for "NFL's worst LB corps."

They SHOULD be better next year with Armstrong back, Hodges moving back into starting caliber, no Nick Bellore, and Bowman returning at some point.

Still have a HUGE need for a pass rusher. Aaron Lynch got lazy and fat after getting popped for PEDs.

It's why I don't want a QB at 2. They have way too many other issues and a QB isn't gonna fix it. It'll be David Carr all over again.

Dude, I fucking hate Jerry Reese. I admit, Collins was a sick pick, but still his fucking, "LB isn't a real position," strategy drives me crazy and in that same draft Jay Ayaji was way the fuck down in the 5th round waiting to be snatched...

I don't think Bowman will be the same. An Achilles rupture isn't the same as reconstructing a knee. He will lose an additional step and who knows how when his other Achilles will blow.

But you're right. Our 9ers have so many holes to fill. And still it seems as though no decent FO talent wants to work with Jeddy-bear.

Here's one for Eldirty...have fun with it! :rofl

No shame in losing to the Title Kings in the post season with the possible best QB of all time at the helm. We've beaten them at home more than once in the Postseason and I honestly wasn't super mad to lose this time. We had a good season, nice turn around on D. Next year will be playing hard and hungry, with or without JPP.

Strategy for Browns and Niners should be the same. Pass on QB, pick for value based on need. Develop around the throne, suck for another season or two and crown the new King when he is found.

No, you're wrong. Browns need to finally get a QB they can rely on for the next decade. They totally need to take Watson. or Kizer. or Trubisky. or anybody except for Myles Garrett. Really.

49ers plan to offer their HC job to Falcons' OC Kyle Shanahan whenever Atlanta’s season ends, sources tell ESPN. Willing to wait for him.

9ers found a coach yet? Last I heard they are talking with Tom Cable.

It's gonna be Shanahan.

there is a dark, sadistic part of me that wants shanahan to decline the Niners job too, just like Cable and McNuggets.

leave little Yorkie-poo sitting there all alone with no real fucking HC candidates and no reason for any quality GM to come to town.

fucking own the shitbasket he created!!!!

but i'd be okay with Shanahan too lol

The idea of hiring a head coach and then finding a GM seems assbackwards to me. But hey it's Santa Clara...let them continue to trip over their dick. :laughing

Dude, everytime someone mentions the AFC North you jump and down and scream Cleveland. The AFC North has put more teams in the playoffs the past 10 years than any other Division. The AFC East is NE and then a bunch of Clevelands. :laughing

Fact: In the past decade the AFC North has won more games than any other Division, been to the playoffs more than any other Division, and has more SuperBowl winners than any other Division. To argue that the AFC North hasnt been the best Division in the NFL over the past decade is pure stupidity.

AFC East is hardly a bunch of Clevelands. Way back in the Stone Age The Jets and the 'Fins managed to win a Superbowl before dirt was invented. And the Bills at least managed to get AFC'd 4 Superbowls in a row in like the 80's, which is a pretty impressive feat.

The Browns NFL Championships in the pre-merger era were pretty god damn impressive, but they haven't done anything since, they are kind of like the Lions.

In other fun Championship history either Pats or Steelers, whoever makes it to the Big Game this year ,will be the single record holder for most Superbowl appearances (9). If the Pats make it and lose, they will be tied with the Broncos for most Superbowl losses (5).
