The Official 2016/2017 NFL Thread

Coffee always tastes better with the tears of Pats fans.

Thurman Thomas was an almost unstoppable running back as the Bills did their four-year SB run in the early 1990's. But now, years later, his doctor says Thurman's brain is “similar to someone who has fallen off the top of a house, on to the front of his head, or going through a windshield of a car several times." :(

that's sad

the players kind of/really/probably knew this was happening. and they deary love to play the game.

but still sad.

Bradford tells Eagles he wants a trade and isn't showing up to any preseason shit.

lol.

:laughing Like anyone will touch his contract. it is almost like they are having a competition with the Niners.

Funny thing about that contract

after the signing bonus that Philly is on the hook for no matter what, Bradford's cap hit?

$7M

Guess what team has almost exactly $7M in cap space and needs a QB, Mr. Elway?

Yeah, I went and looked at it this morning. He got $11 mill of the money from Philly already for this season, so a deal could reasonably happen. There is also rumbling of some sort of arcane 3 way deal with SF too. :laughing

Kaep to Denver, Bradford back with Kelly in SF and hella profits to Philly, yo.

Brady suspension reinstated

Man, when I heard this on the radio, I thought, WTF, I thought this issue was over! Is it because they lost the SB or what??? Crikey....

The whole thing feels like they are sticking their finger in the wind to test public opinion.

It's like Kaepernick. Just don't want to hear about it anymore......sigh.

there's rumors started by the radio guys about the Raiders perhaps trading up with the 9ers pick to get Ezekiel Eliot.

I don't watch much college ball...is he legit?

Everyone says Zeke is the best back to come out in a minute, but I feel like the Raiders should work more on D and the O-Line than trade up for a RB. Latavius Murray is legit enough to be the main back, they just need another good guy to put in the rotation with him that should be easy to pick up in the 2nd or 3rd round.

He's the best in this draft.

If he goes to Dallas at 4 like rumored, he'll be amazing behind that line.

He's probably not better than Todd Gurley.

1st round running backs havent lived up to their pick position in years. Gurley may end up doing so. Other first round RBs of late: Bennie Wells, D McFadden, CJ Spiller, Ryan Matthews, Donald Brown, Felix Jones. Its almost always better to draft offensive lineman in the first round and a RB in the 2nd or 3rd.

Arguably Adrian Peterson is the only 1st round RB to live up to his pick in recent years, and that was nearly a decade ago.

RBs are just too replaceable now, and they don't have long enough careers.
