The Official 2017/2018 NFL Thread

I honestly think he manipulated the linebackers to become the best duo the league ever had. P willis and N bowman

That would be super impressive considering Bowman wasn't even a starter the only year he played in SF while Singletary was coach :laughing

Yea but bowman was molded out of willis, his exact play style down to how he scurried around the field looking for the gap and pounding the runner.

Thay was all from mike when he was lb coach

One of my favorite Singeltary stores comes from Ray Lewis. They did this big thing on his career after he retired, he was talking about all the coaches he had and what he learned from them. Who he learned tackling X from, how he learned patience for the gap from Coach Y, every single Coach he had a technical learn except for Singletary he said he learned, "about keeping Jesus in my life and sustaining my faith."

:laughing

Did anyone watch the game last night. I admit I stopped after the first two series. A coworker stopped by and told me to watch Kiko knock Flacco out. I hope Kiko gets more than just a fine for it. That was some dirty shit. Did something else happen that caused him to respond like that or is he just a shitty player?

I rarely say that a player needs to be hurt. I am very close to saying as much about KAlonso. That was totally fucked up and unnecessary.

"It was a bang-bang play..." is all I've been hearing since it happened. Even Tim Tebow, who to my knowledge still hasn't banged anyone (saving it for marriage, and I think he's still single) reiterated that.

Alonso will get fined, but I don't think it was dirty. I hope JoHarbs gets fined as well.

I might be in a minority here but I didnt think it was a dirty play. In real time it seemed like a normal football play. Flacco slid late trying to get the first down. Alonso hit with his shoulder... just a "bang bang" type play, unfortunately for Flacco he pushed the envelope to get the first.

Flacco gambled with delaying his slide, and paid for it. I agree with the flag, and think no further punishment is warranted. QBs have the slide rule in place for a reason. They are well aware of the consequences of choosing not to slide early.

Agree, doesn't look nearly as bad in real time with Flacco dropping super late. Looks crazy dirty in slo-mo though.

The look on Flacco's face post hit says he's not aware of anything today...

fffff

yeah, they deserve to be 3-5. came out guns blazing then shit the bed with the turnovers.

9-7 hopefully??

Crappy morning of football....

I was switching back and forth. Prior to halftime both of our teams had interceptions returned for touchdowns within 30 seconds of each other! For a while same score until the Raiders "surged" ahead.

Ayayay. The NFL gods do not smile on us. Until the Niners finally got an interception leading to a touchdown for themselves, there was not even one glimmer of hope in that game. The defense played and played but the injuries are just out of reason for the Niners. O-line shredded, D-stars gone or hurt.

Warriors at 5 thank goodness.

Ugh... the only redemption I see is if they knock Tom Brady into retirement in the Mexico City game.

BA, both teams were down 27-7 at the same time. :facepalm

Yeah, it was something to keep switching back and forth; they were on kind of the same trajectory like that. I squandered the morning but oh well. I gave up in fourth quarter finally, having had enough bummer-ball...
