Vegan climbs Mount Everest to prove they aren't weak..

:thumbup

I have considered eating farm raised meat, and even have procured a hunting license with the intention of killing and eating an animal. I have yet to do it though.

I have my own reasons for it, my griping was mainly because I really have encountered a lot of people who just refuse to leave my choice alone. They constantly make comments, and proclaim how much they like meat despite the fact that I usually say nothing about it. It is just funny how defensive some people get about it. Not entirely sure what causes this. It is the meat eating equivalent of the annoying vegan.

Hell I will even cook meat on my grill for you if you brought it over. I just don't eat it.

And I'd happily make you a salad in a bowl if you brought it over. Jokes aside, this is a good point. I had a friend that was a militant vegan. Weird guy all around. Wouldn't eat in a restaurant or house that had cooked meat, ever. In other words, he lived at home (of course [not because he was vegan, but because he was fucking weird]), but cooked his food in the garage on his own hot plate.

Meanwhile I was dating a vegan chick. I had no idea, except she, well, you know, like didn't eat meat. But just like I wasn't sitting there extolling the virtues of red meat on the colon, she wasn't forcing me to change anything about myself. And that's how it should be. Eat what you like. SHut the hell up about what everyone else eats.

I have zero issues with vegetarianism, but many vegans claim it is unethical to eat cheese, drink milk, eat eggs, etc. Fuck that. :)

It's sad when people uneducated in something think they know everything about a subject and shit talk it before even reading into it first

It's not the actual eating (that's a different health topic), its the whole process of producing it that is the main ethical issue.

Though i still wouldn't do it, having your own farm with cows and chickens and what not that you use to feed your own family is football fields away from being the same thing as factory farming. That shit is foul as fuck in so many ways

It's kinda funny that in my experience, it's mostly meat eaters that are the ones talking about what others do or don't eat

And here we go with the preaching.....

Did you read about the owners of Cafe Gratitude that went back to eating meat because the act of big agriculture is more damaging to the environment than eating meat raised on a farm (not saying I agree, just saying that is their point)?

I've said it before, I'll say it again, eat what you like.

How do you know if someone is a vegan or doesn't own a television?

Don't worry, they will tell you.

fck the media, this woman died, along with the 2 others. She gets most attention because media focused on her being a vegan. Title of this thread is classless :thumbdown

Dude, don't you like capitalism?

Did you read about the owners of Cafe Gratitude ...

Didn't they get shut down after employees sued them for requiring workers to take Scientology-like personal growth seminars?

Totally felt like a front to recruit new cult members the times I ate there.

Ha, getting death threats from vegans for killing animals is pretty funny. They had a place in SF, the food was good but overpriced. The servers and general atmosphere had a weird culty forced happiness.

Now that we've all established the evils of vegans I suppose now would be a great time to point out my wife is one.

You'd never know it, because she doesn't tell anyone or care what anyone else eats, but thanks for judging her.

I have no issue with anyone who doesn't try to force their belief structures on me. Overly preachy folks are the ones who are irritating, be it vegans, crossfitters, religious folks, atheists, paleo diet people, etc. There are, however, groups of folks who seem to be more prone to preaching than others.

I would highly doubt these were the first two vegans to attempt the climb.

As someone who eats vegetarian/pescatarian, I always find it a bit humorous how defensive those who eat meat tend to get about it.

I understand there are some very outspoken people who choose to eat this way, and I agree they are annoying, but the common person who eats meat cannot seem to let it alone. I don't preach to anyone about my choices but I still take flak for it from those that don't eat that way. It really is odd.

I don't give a shit if you eat meat, I choose not to for myself. Why you feel the need to constantly berate that choice is a mystery to me, but I suspect it is some sort of guilt. I am not sure why that is, because I don't think I am any better than anyone else but it truly seems to exist. :dunno

Some Nazis were just nice Germans who wanted to help their country out of a tough economy, but that doesn't mean they don't get shit for goose stepping..
