Warriors 16-17 Season

Beat those 8-18 Pelicans. Let's get excited, fellow Warriors fans. :p

Pelicans were absolutely nuts! Full credit to them, they played a fucking game.

Nope. They suck and the Warriors barely beat them. You would know this if you were a cavs fan. They won once and now rule the entire world, including threads about a specific bay area team. Doesn't matter, it's all cavs all the time now. You heard they won right?

I'd be pissed if I had a ticket to tonight's game in Memphis, the Cavs are sitting James, Irving, and Love....

That's really not my attitude at all, and I didn't spend too much time in last year's thread until he playoffs rolled around.... because Cleveland was going to end up playing GSW. I hardly sit in here and talk shit, so please be fair and don't try to paint it that way. If you want to know why I'm here, it's because I *really* really like riding motorcycles.

Yea, I saw that. Very Popovitch-esqe approach, but it has been shown to be effective. I'd be sad if I had tickets to that game, too.

Cavs putting the Grizzlies to rest tonight...

... and GSW is down 7 at halftime against... The.. Pelicans?!...

Ya'll, come on now.. That would be embarrassing.

^^^ Not talking shit at all. Ok.

Geez man, it's on the same page. You came in here, mid game, talking shit.

It's irritating to see the following:

Poster X makes some snarky comment about how the Warriors barely won to show how much more objective they are. This is all based on some fictional meme that all of us Warrior fans think our team is going to win every game easy.

Nobody claimed that especially since the big trade.

But it seems to help some egos to continue to abuse the straw man of inferred superiority. And you just can't help posting this on a Warriors, not NBA thread....

Once and for all, none of us Dubs fans think they are going to win every game easy. Even last year, they would lay the occasional egg.

In the meantime, we will enjoy what they are doing as the season progresses, thankyaverramuch.

If your heart is hardened to them, it's too bad, they are playing some very interesting basketball, especially defensively, and their bench is turning out to be way more successful than expected.

I do see the bigger picture: the Warriors are a target of resentment because of Durant trade and people really want their fantasy to be fulfilled that it will all collapse in ruins because of over-reaching greed to build a super-team. Or it somehow offends your sense of justice that other teams don't get enthusiastic posts on a Warriors thread...

No matter that the true outcome has yet to be reached in a league filled with incredible athletes. I guess there are just too many fans wearing their colors around here and it bothers you, personally? Let fans be fans, fercrynoutloud.

Its really shitty. Me and some friends drove up to portland (first time visiting) to see blazers vs kings and the day of they announce they were resting cousins and rondo :(

Still a fun experience for sure, but damn does it suck.

The first NBA game I went to was the Warriors vs Celtics in 1986, drove up from Santa Barbara, I would have been furious if they "rested" Larry Bird, who was having his huge MVP year. (His line was 36pts, 12 rebs, 9 assists)...

As for other posts, the Warriors at this time are 22-4, not as gaudy as last year, but it doesn't need be, it's still the best record in the league, and they've played more Western conference teams than the Lebrons, and handily beat the team that did beat the Lebrons in Cleveland.

But, a little over a quarter of the season has passed, still a long way to go.

Damn that's an era of basketball I wish I was even existing to watch. Late 80s-90s had so many studs. We are witnessing our own great era now but still would have been sweet to see some all time greats of that era. 3s are cool and all but I find great post play and midrange game to be awesome. Embiid has some cool post moves and footwork I want to see him dominate. Dream shake, anyone?

Well said.

Also worth noting about this "super team" is that curry draymond and klay were all drafted by the warriors and THEN they acquired durant in free agency years later after finally achieving success. Maybe people should stop crying about the super team and maybe be pissed their organizations front office cannot draft and develop their own players into stars?

And remember that Durant didn't spurn his previous team. He did his due diligence, met several teams and chose the Warriors based on what he felt was best for himself. It wasn't a trade or a media circus.

It doesn't help that only 3-4 teams are getting all the media pub and warriors won with Kerr's first year coaching, Curry got back to back MVP, Draymond and owner Lacob are large personalities. Kinda Warrior overload if you're an envious non-warrrior fan :laughing

Yeah there's that, and then of course there's looking at it from a job perspective; If this was any other job nobody would bat an eye.

Nobody would be butthurt if some guy working at a lower level car automation company switched jobs and took a position at tesla, a more elite company that's been doing better then everyone else. If anything, that would probably be celebrated by everyone besides the old company :laughing

Is this directed at me?

There was no snarky comment made. I say that in complete honesty, and I'd hope you'd give me the benefit of the doubt and allow us to chalk up any misinterpretation to the ambiguities of written text. Without a face to face conversation, it can often be hard to gauge the context of a written comment.

I see you guys and us again in the finals. I hold you all to a higher standard just as any well-peforming team would hold its rival to a high standard. Until we all arrive in the post season, it's friendly competitive banter.

There's a shit ton more Cleveland crap talk in this thread than there has *ever* been Warriors crap talk from me. Fact.

Another fine example...

...they've played more Western conference teams than the Lebrons, and handily beat the team that did beat the Lebrons in Cleveland.

Indeed, can't we all just be basketball fans for a little bit? There is no NBA thread because most of you are Warriors fans.. Thus, this by default somewhat becomes a general NBA thread at times. Hell, there are times when I don't bring up Cleveland, but it's some of you all doing so.

I don't appreciate blame being thrown my way when many of you all are throwing the first stones.

I don't ever recall saying I didn't talk shit... :x

Sorry for adding to your persecution complex, but we are out to get you. :laughing

Both of our teams won championships. My grandfather waited his entire life as a Cleveland fan trying to see that, and sadly died last March before it happened.

For the rest of my life, I will *never* be anything except thrilled that I was able to see one brought home.
