What are your favorite Motorcycle movies?

Closer To The Edge, by Isle of Man Film/CinemaNX, starring Guy Martin, Ian Hutchinson, et al.

Great movie, but the ending left me feeling a little hollow? Unresolved? I need to see it again, it just resolved oddly for me.

Another great doc on the same subject is Mark Gardinier's "One Man's Island" - the story of how he sold out his entire life just to have a single shot at racing the TT - because that was his life's dream.

Let's not forget the opening chase scene with the 2 Honda Dual Sports in Skyfall

The Penton movie we gonna see next week, or maybe the week after.
Still, "Long Way Round" is pretty moving. On any Sunday of course.

I love 'On Any Sunday' and 'The World's Fastest Indian'. 'Full Throttle' is also worth watching. I believe it's on Netflix.

Also, I showed World's Fastest Indian to the wife under the pretext of "This is what I'm gonna turn into if you ever leave me a widower" - she enjoyed it.

What no love for, "Purple Rain?" :D
Ghost Rider (2007)
Ghost Rider II (2012)

Just watched a movie called "The Place Beyond the Pines". Robbin banks on a dirt bike. Doesn't get much better. Pretty cool chase scene, although the way the chase ended left lot to be desired.

Cool behind the scenes commentary in the video clip too.

It was a great movie but I just wish the second half was like the first half but oh well

Yahsssss, validation! I learned everything I ever needed to know about how to ride motorcycles and woo women from this scene:

:rofl For some reason that always makes me smile. Even sadder, I didn't even have to put my headphones on - I knew exactly what they were saying and what the background music was. :laughing:laughing:laughing

Long Way Round and Long Way Down are my favourites - more a TV series than a movie but whatever. :ride

I also enjoyed World's Fastest Indian, Faster and Fastest.

Then came bronson 1969 tv series

Old timers will remember this one. Not a movie but still has a strong cult following.
Sometimes youtube has a few of the episodes including the opener which really sets the stage for the entire series.Michael Parks at his best.

There was a TCB movie for starting the series. And yes, he did peak with that gig.

Well, hang in there.

I have to say, The World's Fastest Indian. Anthony Hopkins did an amazing job, he really brought the story of Burt Munro to life.

I also enjoy Mark Neale's doc's on MotoGP.

No one has mentioned Hell's Angels '69. It's a typical biker film from that era, but it's one of the better ones. Two redeeming qualities are that it features actual Hell's Angels from that time and a fair bit of the film was filmed in Mountain View. One scene (supposedly in Las Vegas) was filmed at Pop Kenyons on Middlefield in Mountain View. (The Angels rent dirt bikes.) Another was filmed in downtown MV and shows the Angels terrorizing the citizenry by riding their bikes down the sidewalks. And there are many other scenes recognizable as being filmed in MV.
