What is the fastest vs slowest street legal motorcycle you have owned?

If mopeds count, then my 1977-78 Puch is my slowest bike.

My fastest, maybe my KR1200S in terms of potential, but the fastest I've gone was on my '90 VFR750, ~120 "near Death Valley".

BMW s1000rr / 180.9 (gps)

Suzuki DR200 / 55mph or so (I couldn't ride it faster 'cuz my skirt kept flying up over my helmet)

In order of purchasing:

Honda Hobbit (PA50) - first powered two wheel for me back in 1979. It could hit 30mph downhill, with the wind at my back, pedeling furiously.

'22 Tuono Factory - have yet to really stretch out it's legs, but it is somewhere between 5 and 6 times faster.

Flip

That's an easy one...

Honda Dax 70 - maybe hit 50mph going downhill with a good tailwind
Suzuki V-Strom 650 - 110mph on the speedo

Only two bikes I've ever owned :wow

My current ZX14
1979 Goldwing running on 3 1/2 cylinders

Mad

Kind of a tossup, between an R90/6 134 mph, and a V-rod up over 130 with a little slack in the throttle cables.
I did have a VFR 750 once @ 90 in third, until my girlfriend caught a glimpse of the speedo and freaked, 90 too fast, too easy. Never did get to hear that machine @ full song, disappointment.

The slow has to be a pushrod Honda Trail 90, maybe 50 with street gearing, but usually geared for dirt, slower but steeper.

1993 Ducati 888 SPO Superbike

SUPER cool. I was standing in a shop with a wad of cash in my pocket to buy a SP5 years ago. After being studiously ignored by all the salespeople, I got the hump and left. Ended up buying a TL1000S instead, fortunately, saving the Duke for future generations. :laughing

Slowest - Honda C50, maybe 45mph, chin on the nacelle, legs out the back.
Fastest - GSXR1000, flat out in top, on a long downhill on the Autoroute de Soleil.

First 'OH SHIT' speed moment - Tuned Yamaha RD350LC
Second - back of a friends FZR1000
Third - TL1000S
Fourth - GSXR1000

I'd love to try a current generation superbike, just to see if it's viscerally different from my K5.

Hey Joe, I'm not sure about you... but as I'm thinking about fastest vs slowest I keep thinking that something is missing... we both have 2 -strokes in the garage. Mine aren't the fastest, or the slowest, but they definitely put the biggest grins on my face... and that's what I care about:ride

Okay, I just needed to get that on the record.:teeth

Slowest: First bike was a Yamaha Enduro. Pulled over late one night. Officer said I was speeding, clocked me at 65 MPH. Ha! Told him I couldn't do that returning from school down 92 with a tail wind. He then decided to take a different tack, expressed it was too loud. Stock pipe I said. Can't remember how it all ended, old brain. Must have been only a 'warning', as my wallet back then was bare and I would have remembered a fine.

Fastest? Not one I owned. ;)

Fastest: 08 Honda cbr1000rr:thumbup
Slowest: 69 Honda trail 90 Top speed around 55mph...lol:(

1972 vs 1997.

I had one massive tankslapper after owning it a month or two before the recall where the installed a steering damper (which helped) and a new gas tank, (fires evidently) and new ECU (a bit better but still bad).

Ohlins to replace the crap rotary damper, Lindemann Engineering reworked the forks, and moving to a 185/55 rear plus a Power Commander for the ECU transformed the bike.

Later I added convertibars.

Was great in the end but sold it after discovering I had more fun around here on my 2006 DRZSM.

Sounds familiar - I loved my TLS. I had one absolute monster, from a ham-fisted wheelie landing. Fitted a Hyperpro damper after that. In fairness, I've ridden worse, mostly it just had the tendency to wag a bit. Its most annoying quality was it used to turn into a TL500 when it rained and the transition back to 1000 was unsettling to say the least.

@Julian. Agree with you on the two strokes. I've been terrorizing the neighborhood recently, running all my errands on the RD. Highly amusing.

Well, I've only owned two so this is rather simple. :p

Ninja 250 and CBR600RR

Fastest vs slowest bike you've ever ridden would be a different thread, I suppose. In that case, BMW HP4 and some sort of Kawasaki 90cc or 100cc something dirt bike.

Fastest: Toss-up between Ducati Diavel, BMW S1000XR, and my Energica Eva Ribelle. The Ribelle definitely FEELS way faster than the other two when it comes to acceleration, although the actual top speed is for sure lower. I think it tops out around 120mph only.

Slowest: Honda Grom. Currently bored out to 143cc. 0-60 in.. maybe.
