What? No head tap?

prius drivers

Wow, can't believe everyone is blasting OP. He wasn't blaming people for his own choice to speed (or roll through stop signs) - he was just commenting on the apparent decline of what I too thought was common courtesy btw riders in the hills. He takes responsibility for his own choices, but nonetheless would expect a heads up if it is easy for another rider to do so.

And no, I don't expect you to tap or pull out a sign mid-apex just for my dumb ass. But if you are cruising on a straight, pass an LEO, give your fellow riders a heads up! You might be glad someone did the same for you one weekend. Even at a very moderate pace, we are all generally breaking the speed lmit on those backcountry roads. We are all out there for more or less the same reasons - let's not be dickknockers to each other. We already have cell-phone-talking-minivan-moms to worry about already.

You forget the "new Volvo" Prius drivers.......LOL

:laughing I learned a new word today..!

This show actually made it a commonplace word for awhile, back in the day... :laughing :smoking

no buck fifty

Maybe I'm the only one but when some squids are coming up the hill I give a big thumbs up cop or no cop, it's not my fault if they want to go a buck fifty on my road! Seriously though I just wave, they can ride their bikes at any speed they choose. If you want to play you have to pay.

Thanx, Russ

Remember, LEOs will pull you over for going not much over the posted limit, not doing a buck fifty. Also, remember the limit is set so artificially low in most situations that it's easy to get ticketed. Just my 2 cents.

I prefer to give head taps to the riders following directly behind a cop.

Reminds me of the time I head tapped a rider and was dumbfounded by his expression... Only to realize the cop had pulled out and was right on my tail! Ahaha...

Got pulled over, got out of a hefty ticket though!

I'm kissing my hand and then tapping my ass next time I see you doofus. head taps are just like hand waving ppl due it as a courtesy. I can't beleive you had no plates on your really asking for it. and BTW most DUCATI ride rule

I believe the big problem in this thread is the perceived concept of the regularity of the action and implication of the word "courtesy". :nerd

All of a sudden, I feel much older then I really am.

I think I learned that word in the 80's.

Seemed obvious to me, guess others are slow.

:laughing +1 And yeah, it got a lot of use back in the 80's...

i blame those people who keep blasting off the side of the freaking mtn.

Lsat summer I was going up GP from Fish Ranch and in that first 180-deg sweep there was a cruiser coming down. "Cool, I can give a head tap now to help out my fellow riders!" I thought.

Right behind the car was another LEO on a bike. So I gave him a head tap. :teeth

I learned it in the mid 60's :cool (the Dark glasses hid my eyes that scared people, seems my eyes got so blood shot, the straights freaked out, when they saw something they had never seen before)
