Do You Mountain Bike?

I have been the same way since Oct

Make sure you strech that thing mine got all tense / tightened up due to the lack of moving / using it and favoring it.

I feel your pain
Thanx, I know. I'm all about the stretching. Been rehabbing myself for the better part of my long, old, broken 43 years. <<cough, ... cough, ... weeeeeeze :wtf

.

Hey Joe, here's the Cannondale I was telling you about yesterday. It's not gonna happen anytime soon, but once I get done with school I'll probably want to treat myself - 24.10 lbs :)

I noticed even Cannondale has yielded to global economy and has some product lines being manufactured in China. I assume (hope) that this one is still USA-made...?

Not that it's going to happen anytime soon for me, but I'd love a new Ventana El Ciclon... :)

scary light weight

Totally. I'm figuring a lightweight XC trail bike with good pedaling efficiency and just over 5" of travel should work really well for me. Since I don't do the kinds of hits and drops you and Ryan do, I doubt I need the beefier frame or the extra travel that go with it. And I love how well the Lefty works over the smaller rocks at speed.

Ya know, I'm not too sure of that. Oh well, most of our families weren't made
in the USA, and I think they turned out alright ;)

I bumped into the Ventana guy when I was riding by Lake Folsom years ago, before I knew who he was or what Ventana bikes were. He makes some sick bikes!

Harpo and I are teaming up this summer to run some xc races

Team Cripple

Nothing we can't handle as long as we don't reach over our heads

I just picked up Seasons, the new DVD by The Collective.

Our place (and TV) are kinda small - anyone feel like having a movie night? :)

I might be able to accommodate. When were you thinkin'?

Has anyone ridden the Easton monkeylite carbon dh bar? my 29.5-30inch sunlines are nice for DH, but are getting whacked on EVERYTHING lately. What are other good 28inch bars?

What do you want to know? My friend has a set on his Stumpjumper pro and I have the XC ones on my bike. They seem to be very sturdy but take a little bit of the edge off your hands from bumps etc. I'm assuming the DH's have a higher rise?

I've only ridden the xc version. (I think it was an OS bar)
I thought they were great until the left bar broke off and sent me a timblin' down at Soquel. :wtf I fell another 3 or 4 times tryin' to ride the amputee bike back to civilization. :( That was it for me. No more carbon bars.

I have beat the crap out of my super-lightweight aluminum bars and never had an issue.

Just my 2 cents. :teeth

Gnar Gnar DH in Fairfax

After a loop of Tamarancho, we (Me, Sonny, Scott & Poh) went up a killer vertical fireroad to the top of Loma Alta, and down an awesome DH trail -- fun!!:party

That climb is no joke, you know you've done something after doing it.

Of course I needed more recovery time from Monday's ride:rolleyes...I was hurtin':laughing
