Adventure riding short rides and BS thread

A few from saturday overnight at Fremont Peak

Ah, bummer, I read about this on the Four Corners MC Meetup and almost went. Instead, I decided to go to Carnegie on the way to a flat track race in Sac, took a spill at Carnegie, sprained my ankle bad, and had to skip the race. :(

Wow Eric, that looks like a good time :thumbup

Hopefully the ankle heals quickly Dan.

Chasing Thunderbirds & Trampling Wildflowers - Four Days in Death Valley

Hey John, thanks for turning me on to dave6253's ride reports. Incredible stuff, truly an art form.

Hey Bill,

Here's something I'll bet you can relate to, but which
kind of blew my mind ... on dave6253's last trip he rode 3000
miles and says he returned with 3000 pics on his
cameras ("a pic a mile, about average for me ...")
... think he said he spends about 40 hours
on one of his ride reports, editing and processing ... :wow

... a first-principles, life-lesson there for me ...
creating impressive art involves what mere citizens
would consider an awsome level of effort ... :party

see you around
the campfire,

Wow! That is an astonishing amount of effort. Clearly he gets great pleasure from both the riding and the sharing, lucky for the rest of us! I do plan on copying a couple of his shooting techniques, but will stick with my comparatively low effort reports. :laughing

John, Have you followed any of Desert Dave's RR's over at ADV? Some really fantastic photography and narrative in them too.

Wow, another artist ... thanks for the link! :ride

Desert Dave said:

talent helps ... I'd say you're up there in the
Pantheon with dave6253 and Desert Dave compared
with those of us who look but don't really see ... :thumbup

"I've seen plenty of awesome photos from cell phones

I'm glad you liked your pillow!

We're thinking carrizo. The dr's carb is being weird. So I need to fiddle with it. We'll see.

I could go for some hot springs.
