Audi RS6 Avant Wagon

Type [ youtube ][ /youtube ] then place the video code (the code after the "v=" part of the HTML code) into the space between the brackets. :thumbup :nerd

PS, remove the spaces from inside the brackets in the actual BB code otherwise it won't work. :laughing

Yep that’s what I normally do and have done many times in the past, just couldn’t get it to work with this particular one

If you can't even embed you're no match for the supreme craftsmanship and intelligence required to operate and even much more, service , German equipment don't you think??

:D

Thanks for that, I love these types of videos. Especially when they insert (Dry in this case) humor into them. My favorite guy is M539Restorations. He does bimmers almost exclusively.

As pointed out in the video that’s the back of the engine where all the timing chain and plastic guides are. One of those plastic guides breaks out of warranty you might consider scraping it over paying the repair costs.

I hate this thread. Now I'm thinking it's time to move the S8 along...and yet, I really have come to like her. But the bills make me want to do as much work on her as I can. Time for BAT.

"blankpage" "found" that guy, but one video was useful to me as well. I checked if he has a vid for my transmission and he showed a cut-out for how a fill-tube works while inside the transmission. 👍

I guess the guy is "lucky" he simply has pieces of metal that he just breaks apart just for fun. I don't think he's reassembling them, looks like he's throwing the parts and gaskets around.

a little bit sensationalist. E.g. the "V8 engine" "oh it was throwing codes, that's why it's here" well duh, the chain/guide was broken.

The Avant is an iconic car, particularly in Europe, where the Station Wagon is considered a "standard" vehicle. And not unusual at all.
Yeah, the handling is not great. But good.............for a Station Wagon. It will appreciate. Not many imported or made, for that matter.

Too big for me. I have a RS5.

The handling is fantastic compared to many cars on the road... :wtf

It's the electronic brake/ steering that such a little bit of life out of what is a fantastic package.

The best wagon for driving feel and manners that I don't think will ever be beat is the manual Gen 2 CTS-V. To be fair, I haven't driven a current gen Porsche Panarama Turbo.

BINGO!!! Just found a '13, in Silver Coast Metallic, Recaro's, etc, 17,000 miles here in the bay area. But alas at $88K I'll have to pass. :( I need to get the '50 Panel completed. Haven't seen the wagon prices on good examples drop at all. In 2016 - 2017 they were between $44K to the about $50K. The "sticks" have always been at the high end.

There is no Cadillac on the market that tops its European counterpart in the same class. Sorry. If you're obsessed with Americana, sure, it'll always be "better". :twofinger

Call me Jeremy Clarkson...I don't care. America doesn't build top-tier sport sedans/wagons.

Tops it at what? Cost?

Ha, ha, Ok Clarkson... you really need to actually drive one before making those kind of nescient comments. :twofinger

C'mon guys.

The people for whom these cars are made, don't do their own repairs. These are technological marvels, wherein the carmaker "shows off" what can be done with a fairly pedestrian vehicle. And the prices reflect that.
I couldn't even find the windshield fluid filler on my current Jeep GC when I opened the hood. And when I went to help my son jump start his car, there was no battery visible under the hood either. Couple of clamping points, that's all. I have no idea where the battery is.:rolleyes
I have an Audi RS5, and I have never done any maintenance other than take it to the local dealer. Nor do I want to.:laughing

Pretty phenomenal vehicle I must say. But, you don't ever want to see a bill for servicing the ceramic brakes.:thumbdown

Having owned several German cars for over 30 years I really don't get the angst. None have ever had any more than normal maintenance.:x

Sad, but true....................a serious lack of sophistication compared to the EuroBrands.:wow

If it’s newer like my Jeep GC then try looking under the passenger seat.

i saw Wheeler dealers episode about this car. I don't think it would completely suck to have one - if it's in order.

A lot of great info in here and thank you Kornholio for 'getting me' and why I want a wagon and not a 911. If I could have both, I would, but I cannot.
Thanks for the tip of the Mercedes Berto, I'll do some research and figure out if I can do this or not.
Seriously, my gf and I pack for a weekend as if we're going to shit our pants 4 times a day for a weekend away. Somehow we can pull it off on the Multi but as soon as we get in a car we go overboard. Every. Fucking. Time.
