Cars that make your jaw drop.

Just more work stuff. This was our shakedown at VIR 2 weeks ago. That's me blocking the sun. This car is pretty trick. Every bit of suspension adjustment is done with shims. It has full data acquisition and telemetry, of course, but they've also moved past having to plug a computer in to change any settings. That's all done in the steering wheel and the dash displays.
This is my first car at this level in 15 years, so of course I'm blown away, but we have a couple guys that we stole from Mercedes and Lambo GT3 teams, and they even said it's a step above what else is out there.

:wow

Bad ass dude

The whole body comes off. About 50 screws, and a few latches.

And what makes it go.

Also, the toolbox for routine work is very small. All of the suspension bolts are 10mm head, 12mm head, or 6mm Allen. Most of the bodywork is 3 or 4mm Allen.

Woo hoo look how thick those brake pads are!

Pretty trick looking stuff.

I see the PFC banner in the back. Do you use the Performance Friction pads and brakes?
What do you think?

So.... can I hot lap it? ;)

Thanks for the pics and insight into new tech. Great stuff. Looks fun to wrench on.

Your job looks so much more exciting than the trash I work on every day :laughing

Yeahhhh but the higher end stuff often evaporates overnight and it's the same pay with twice the effort. Twice the fun of course, but there's always a tradeoff.

When a normal sized Hummer H1 isn't big enough, how about a Hummer H1 X3?

Yes, the smaller one in the photo is the standard Hummer....

Too many pictures to post here, but these made my jaw drop for different reasons than the usual.

That is a P-Car fan through and through right there. The thought of keeping at 928S4 going for 400k miles? Yeesh. Probably bought the car three times over by then in service and repair.

And daily driving a GT4? Holy shit.

And not just daily, but like 3x what most others drive their dailies. Let alone having enough time to drive the others. This is serious ironbutt territory.
