Destination Ride Restaurants - Feeling it? What are your fav's?

We went to Sierra Mar for an anniversary; totally worth the $$$

Just looked at the sample menu. Going to put that on my list of places to try. The wife and I do enjoy a good meal.

The Wife and kiddo would love it... so I am not talking :shhh

  • Ben Lomand (9) La Placa Family Bakery Baked goods, coffee, ice cream.

I updated to their FB link. Thanks Mike.

Since you've got some NW stuff in here,

Washington

My family had a hobby farm not far from Black Diamond, which means the Black Diamond Bakery. Obviously, the breads and pastries are great, and so are the breakfasts and lunches. A great place to stop either going to or coming from Mt. Rainier or Crystal Mountain.

If you're going into Seattle, you've got to go to Dick's. Search this site for "I love Dick's", and I can think of at least two threads that should come up. The shakes are to die for. The fries are an acquired taste, but but I have acquired it, and the burgers are basic. It's just as central to Seattle as Ivar's (BTW, I didn't know that Ivar's owns Kidd Valley, another great burger joint).

Oregon

Tomaselli's in Elkton, OR. I haven't eaten there in some time, but it was always a great breakfast spot. It's on a road that the Harley guys proclaimed one of the best in the US, Hwy 38.

Back to California.

Last week, we stopped in Cazadero after coming down off of King Ridge. I usually stop to get something to drink at the Cazadero Store. Last week, I ordered a sandwich from their deli for the first time. It may have been the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had.

How about the Bluebird Cafe in Hopland. Great food! Cool vibe! Adjacent to great riding! Hopland Grade. Hwy 253. Hwy 128. Mountain House Road.

What!?! No Samoa Cookhouse?! :wow If you get up behind the Redwood Curtain, you must eat at the cookhouse at least once!

Imagine, you've just ridden Hwy 1 from the coast up to Leggett, the very best section of Hwy 1. You're fired up! You're in a celebratory mood! What do you do? Stop at the Peg House, of course! Great food. Wonderful outdoor seating. Live music is common. Lots of interesting conversation with colorful characters is almost guaranteed. Try the salmon burger. It's amazing! Never don't stop!

Bluebird Cafe!! :facepalm

Thanks for providing links Hun. Thats how ya get it dun!!

Added a couple of the Seattle locations for Dick's, the waterfront location for Ivar's, Tomaselli's, Cazadero Store, Samoa Cookhouse, and the Peg House.

Not sure when (probably one of the early posts, given its placement in the list), but I'd picked up Bluebird somewhere in the thread, as it was already in the map :thumbup

Thank you! FWIW, I favor the NE 45th location of Dick's, but that's just because I used to live nearby. Ivar's on the waterfront is classic, and a great place to get some grub while waiting for a ferry, I tend to stop at the one on Lake Union. No reason, just habit.

Added Gold Beach (Oregon Coast HWY 101) Hunter Creek Bar and Grill

This place was from our coastal ride and worth adding. Good food, fun Atmosphere, 2 minutes of the HWY and the food solid. If I was a local it would be a regular stop.

Oh Rly?!? I was going to ride the agness powers road soon. This would be a good stop.

The owner was cool, food solid and the spot nice.

Enjoy and report back!

Bayside Cafe looks really cool. :thumbup
Always down for Taco's. :drool

Also from our coastal trip. Carpinteria (1) Padaro Beach Grill

Good food and cool spot.

I looked thru Ca's list, didn't find,

Bayside Cafe, Morro Bay
Taco Temple, Morro Bay & SLO

That oversight has been remedied :thumbup

Google maps was also starting to bog down with loading everything in the California list, so I split that up, "north of the middle" and "south of the middle", with Hwy 180 as the rough dividing line. It should still default to all points loaded, though,

Another from the coastal ride.

Long Beach, WA
(Just North of 101 @ 1700 Pacific Hwy S Lost Roo

Very diverse menu, good prices and service. We went on a Saturday and it was packed for College football, but we were still seated immediatly and they worked with us to stow 6 helmets on the adjacent table too.

I have featured Bayside Cafe in the flora/succulents section.

Question about the full selection from this thread.
TWT had a best burger thread, and there may be a traveling/trucker pie thread too, along with traveling beer & whisky thread.

Combine all under a food & drink section?

Live to :ride ,

:ride to eat ? drink? Be merry? :party
