Do You Mountain Bike?

175 is a wider circle making it easier to pedal, bigger riders like bigger cranks. this all according to goog-le

Hey guys, looking at buying a new crank-set...question, 170mm or 175mm crank arm length....difference? The 175 more efficient? One of you gurus knows whats up!!

For a mountain bike, unless you are very short, go with the 175s. What's on your bike now?

BARFers at Toro Park

The course was faster, sketchier, and a LOT more loose compared to the first race.

My times for both races were about the same, despite my lil get-off towards the finish:party

Race # 2 Results:

Greg 6th Expert Men 35-44

Sonny 5th Beginner Men 19-34

Roxy 1st Beginner Women & 2nd Sport Women

Joe 2nd Sport Men 35-44

SCOTT!!!

dewd the climb was easy this time, and I'm sure you would have won either beginner or sport. I know we said it was a sh1tty climb, but this time it wasn't.

Woo, Hoo!!
Another fun one. Course was a little bit sketchier than the first one but still great fun.

Had Fun! :thumbup
Got a Workout! :thumbup
Didn't Get Hurt! :thumbup

Good Shit. Can't wait for the next one. :teeth

How was the climb "easier" this time?

After riding UCSC with Scott, I would venture to say that Scott would have placed top 5 in men's expert.

The climb was a LOT easier.....might have been due to the fact that we EXPECTED a brutal climb..:laughing

an idear i just had

any mountain bikers in the city? maybe we (or you could hit me up) to go urban riding in the hills, so we can smack up the fixie and track bike losers that propagate here. let me know via a pm, lets get something goin'!

:twofinger

eh, id rather use my $35 and ride demo all day. Being poor and in college sucks, so ya have to pick your spending wisely. Although, racing sounded more fun after what i did saturday. Rode demo with that mtbr group. Totals for myself and the guy i was with were like 56 miles, and 9,000 feet of climbing. (FYI, Sulfer springs SUCKS) Going to be doing this ride twice a month now, so i wanna do it with you mike at least once or twice before d ville :)

DUUUUUUUDE!!! 56 miles on a mtn bike is just total agony and suffering. You're a rock ROCK STAR for sure but just count me the F@#$ out.
The fun ends somewhere after 24 -25 miles. Did 30 once and when it was done I was glad it was done.

Some of those fixie and track bike losers I ride with are some of the best MTBr's I've ridden with. Like the guy that raced expert class SS CX on a fixed gear.

I rode Mclaren today. Sonny you need to come out here if you want some good downhill practice. That park is full of DH's of all levels. It's only fun cause though the downhills are short, so are the climbs back to the top. You can just keep going over and over and over again all day. Some of them are pretty tough and some are just super fun.

our last big outing cost me some ribs, Scott heard the girlie scream as I did myself in.

I wasted a full day wating on Will, but I needed the rest. we need to pre ride Boggs this weekend.

The team and I have been pretty active. They just went and pre rode boggs on Sun. I couldn't make it bu tthe consensus is that it's a perfect fast rolling relatively smooth XC type course. Some good elevation but no hill climbs of death. Depending on which manner we assault the course this is a perfectly doable race for a three man team. If you could do it on Sun I'm in. It's just north of Middlefield

Had the chance to watch the Stars & Bars dh movie ....pretty dope:cool
