Do You Mountain Bike?

We'll probably just got to Sea Otter to check out the races, vendor booths, and skills clinics. I haven't heard too many good things about racing there either.

I've heard good things about the Shasta race as well - I just don't know if I can make that happen during an AFM weekend.

The Lake Sonoma XC races are cheap and sound fun, but they're on Saturdays - I know those are bad for both Lisa and you. Free food with a $20 entry tho!

I've dropped some weight and put a lot of miles in on the roadbike - I'd like to test myself with another XC race soon :)

Im not to keen on sea otter either, prob watch the pro dh, and thats it.

i think im skipping out on all these cccx races to, just doesnt sound like fun hiking a hill for $35.

BUT, what i am doing is training for the downieville classic, going to race the AM class i do believe. So if anyone wants to do 3 loops at demo this saturday, lemmie know. im going to start around 8 am.

I think we'll be spectators at Sea Otter, check out the vendors, and maybe watch some DH/slalom.

It looks like we have 3, maybe 4 riders for the race this Saturday?:confused (Joe, Sonny, Greg?)

I thought the same thing at first with regards. Then I found that it was totally possible to ride up on an AM bike if you take the slightly longer route - somehow, it didn't seem so bad that way.

A good finish there is my goal as well - only in the DH though. I'd like to try the XC, but I'm scared of being too wiped out for the DH race - just like I was last year.

Wish I could do Demo this weekend, but I think I have to stay local. Have a good time out there!

Hey everyone, thanks for all the responses and the much needed sympathy. I've come to terms with my loss and I am rolling with the punches. I already have a new steed lined up, although not really *new* in any sense of the word, but i digress...

Anyway, just wanted to show her off a bit, and let you guys know I'm ready to ride any time. :thumbup

Guess who's sick again. :(
This is f@#$EN horrible. I haven't managed to stay healthy for longer than a 3 week period since October. F@#$ F@#$ F@#$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My training this week has consisted of, ... consuming Musinex, Claritin, Ibuprophen, Excederen, chicken soup and now cough suppressant. Oh, and lots of dosing off where ever I happen to be. :wow

That said, unless the chest congestion gets worse, I'm still planning on making it down to the cccx race. Hey, maybe if I take some of my cough medicine with codene I can just "fly" over the course and land just before the finish.

Oh, and if I failed to say it before, ... F@#$ F@#$ F@#$ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm diggin F1RST, but I'm wondering what makes it different from In Between the Tape.

Also, I just read about the 10K loop the MTBR guys are thinking of doing. Starting from Aptos, with TWO loops of Ridge > Sawpit > Sulphur > Braille > Hinh's Mill > Highland > Buzzard loops? Wow.

Hey guys, looking at buying a new crank-set...question, 170mm or 175mm crank arm length....difference? The 175 more efficient? One of you gurus knows whats up!!
