Do You Mountain Bike?

med Enduro SL for sale

That poor Enduro is 0 for 2 in personal all-mountain comparos!

it is......i made the top 10 last year.....know the guy who *won*......but, it sounds like a hoot....you should go for it!.....it's only like 13K ascent :wtf.....ugh...

be creative on writing....and send in a ridiculous pic....Good Luck! :thumbup

I can probably handle the writing, but the riding is another story. I'm working on that, but I don't expect to be in the running anytime soon :)

Jurgen Beneke's short letter that got him picked for the "Smear the Weir" contest was pretty good - that might be a good template to follow. Then again, with his World Cup DH experience, Beneke was able to beat Weir pretty convincingly at the Sea Otter DH.

The only thing I don't like about the enduro, is when I get out of the seat to climb it really wants to spin up. You have to stand strait up and lean a little back to get traction.

Otherwise, I don't know WTF you two bozo's are complaining about! I dig my SL! :D

you'd be fine on the climbing......just oodles and oodles and oodles of training....ouch.....

i dunno if Beneke's approach would be the best......Rich Dillon "won" last year (24 SS solo champion...and really awesome endurance racer)......he did a lot of smack talk.....Weir didn't like it much & just up and dropped him.....since Dillon was/is faster than the support he was off by his lonesome for about 90% of the time trying not to get lost.....he completed the whole enchilada in good time though...it really turned into a *hell* ride....:cool

I'm doing the Sea Otter XC amateur race tomorrow (4/18), wish me luck !!! I've done it before, in 2005.

I can't believe it's really 6800 feet of climbing total. Looking at the profile graph, it doesn't seem like that much.

Also, how can people say "the entry fee is too much!" after dropping $2,000.00 to $6,000.00 and more for a mtn bike?

That's exactly what gets me in trouble on a mountain bike. What's a $200 mtb component when I'm used to burning $800 on a weekend of roadracing, right?

Have a fun weekend - the gf and I will be out there checking things out on Sunday!

The Enduro SL is nice, but like SJensen said about the Reign X, when you already own something at the ends of the spectrum (XC bike in my case), It's hard to fit it in a 2 bike stable. I'd put the Enduro smack in the middle, great for a single bike stable.

I also have some parts for sale...

Float 100 RLC
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/646061763.html

DHX 3.0

Enduro SL

These are of course cheaper to my friends, and if you want parts from the Enduro, we can talk.

have a great race!....only booger of a climb is trail 82.....the rest are either mellow, or short bursts.....:thumbup

shouldn't you be at work or something:twofinger:

ill be at otter saturday, and am looking to do a long ride on sunday.

XC ride saturday morning. 9am Walnut Creek/Shell Ridge

Meet at Pete's in the Ygnacio Plaza at Ygnacio Valley Rd and San Carlos Dr.
9ish. 1.5-2 hrs. Pretty mild stuff and pretty mild pace.

otter was fun. saw many pro's, got a ton of dirt in the eye's bc of the 30+ MPH winds. saw some new parts/frames/etc. and procured a fork for the enduro. 08 lyric solo air. from good ole doug king the parts man, to be picked up tuesday, for an unmentionable price. :) im a happy man.

Ok, I survived the Beginner race on Friday :party

I'm happy that 3 years later, I'm within one minute of my previous time, not that I'm fast or anything, I'm in the lower part of the pack for sure. I'll just say it was over 2 hours (not way over). I've never ridden through so much SAND, frikkin sand all over the place!

I DID find it surprising that the Total Ascent recorded by my Polar cycling HRM was 2,640 feet, much lower than I expected.

From the SeaOtter Map, it shows 3,420 feet for one lap, while MotionBased shows one lap at about 3,850 feet :dunno I can understand that our calcs might not be exactly the same but that's way different.

Many riders did not seem to care about getting close to the apex around the corners when we were on the track, but I was right there on the tiger teeth :laughing

You suck.

Well, unless of course I can ride it with those forks. :)
