Do You Mountain Bike?

Hrm, I'll have to check out what tires I was running on the rims. I think they were 2.1s or something tiny. My bike came with 2.4s front and rear so I asked for those on my new wheels.

2.1's tiny? In my past experience, I found that if you're doing xc riding or singletrack, to keep it under 2.0. I've tried 2.5's and they were just too heavy and sluggish for climbing and even barreling downhill.

Annadel on Monday, 10 AM

We're looking at doing 20 or so miles at Annadel Monday on Memorial Day.

Meet in the Channel Drive parking lot @ 10 AM. Once again, I'm looking forward to dropping the best descents in the park. I'd like to add a couple of bonus loops to what we did last time.

I'm thinking Mike's Burgers on the trip back would hit the spot as well.

Who's in?

Sounds good, its memorial day, so if somebody has a spot to BBQ I can bring food! (my apartment is pretty small for a bunch of moutain bikers :laughing) I could see about having a bbq at my place after if anyone is interested.......

Edit:

Shit, 20 miles! scratch riding sat/sun, gonna have to have some recovery time before this one!

So you guys are not interested in riding North Star?

I have an AFM event to cover, so it's not gonna happen this weekend for me.

What bike are you taking out there? I remember you having some kind of hard tail?

The "Non-Supreme-Athlete" Mountain Bike Ride

OK... Slackers - Get FIT for the riding/trackday season and Ride MTBs with us!!! We are resuming our regularly scheduled program by hitting Napa's beautiful Skyline trail (Skyline Park) this coming Saturday (24 May 08)! A few of us (S2RGRL, Achilles and myself) have been riding Rockville Park (Fairfield) more frequently of late and would REALLY LOVE to have our BARF bros and sis join us mountain biking. We are NOT extreme athletes/superstars pedaling two wheels (that's the other thread :laughing) - please don't let our good looks fool you - HAHAHAHA!!!! I kill... The planned ride will be very "newb friendly" and no one gets left behind or lost. I will do my best as the designated trail guide/lead so we all have a good time. Breaks will be plentiful - lots of laughs and a great time is GUARANTEED! Mexican food and beer after the ride will close out an exceptional day. :thumbup

Details:
Date - 24 May 08
Time - 0730 hrs in Vacaville (505 Davis St # D - next to Brenden Theaters)
OR 0800 hrs the Skyline Park's parking lot.

Address-
Skyline Wilderness Park
2201 Imola Ave.
Napa, CA 94559

http://www.ncfaa.com/skyline/skyline_park.htm

Tips for the ride:
1. Ensure your mountain bike is in good working order (and you know how to operate it!)
2. Bring plenty of WATER!! (water bottle, Camel Back, etc)
3. SAFETY First! Mandatory items: helmet, gloves (I have extra if needed), appropriate attire (shorts, padded if available!), sturdy foot wear (non-slip sole)
4. Energy Bar (Powerbar, etc - easier than bringing an apple)
5. Have a good attitude and a sense of humor and adventure!

Pre-ride safety and route talk will be provided.

To get you going, watch the Skyline-Napa Video (9th video down) - http://www.petefagerlin.com/cavid.htm -- SWEET!!
