EBike Bicycle do you have one?

What did you replace it with?

Nothin yet, I still have it. Mike needs to consider buying it, but he won't because it's only 35nm compared to the Santa Cruz' 60nm. At his (youthful) age, 35nm on a bike that light is plenty of extra oomph.

I would love it if Specialized would sell their new version of the SL motor separately. I would retrofit it to the Creo and have 50nm on tap. I'm older than Mike, so I am allowed to think this way. :laughing

If you are keeping up with this Mike, in all seriousness you are welcome to borrow the Creo if you want. I have an extra set of rims, so you could swap gravel and road in a couple of minutes. I have the range extender battery as well.

I could chuck it in the car and meet you somewhere the next time Lynn and I ride UCSC, Wilder or Nisene Marks. You have my number, let me know.

looks like a good fancy bike!! :thumbup
where do you see them.. --nano-metres-- listed...? :confused :laughing

it's kinda funny, both bikes above have the same battery and motor listed.. :laughing the way Newton would have wanted--to conquer those meters over the hump.

I haven't found the torque spec on the Specialized website, but plenty of review sites list the motor and battery specs. The motor is 240 watts and 35nm with a 320Wh battery. The range extender offers an additional 160 Wh.

I sold my Levo SL earlier this year, which had the same motor/battery specs. I replaced it with the gen 3 Levo carbon, which has 90 Newton meters (happy now?) :teeth. It's a whole world of difference. I am probably going to buy a gen 2 Levo SL, which now has 50 Newton meters of torque, and the same battery. It weighs 10lbs less than the "full power" Levo. I feel strongly that it will be plenty of power for the type of rides my wife and I do. If it proves to be enough the Levo will be up for sale.

Absolutely.

This is sick. No I can't afford it :laughing

But you could afford my Specialized Turbo Creo SL Evo....... :cool

Hi Ken!

I'm absolutely NOT in the market for any new toys these days. :laughing I still have a 5010 frame to build and its been hard to find time to ride lately.
That's a really nice bike your parting ways with! I hope you and the Mrs. are still gonna get out for a pedal or two. :thumbup

yeah, nice, thanks :laughing:thumbup Usually Nm is the Newton-meters, while nm is the nanometers (silicone wafers) ...

Nice. Cool bikes, hope I can afford one . Sometimes even a smaller battery + motor should be plenty enough, to help, exactly as you say! Doesn't need to be always the biggest (and heaviest)

Thanks for pointing that out, I was being lazy, mimicking online writers by not capitalizing the N. Shame on me, I'm always ragging on journalists about being less than accurate in their reporting. Where is that mirror...... :teeth

Let me know if you would like to give it a trial ride. We are in SF every 3 to 4 weeks or so.

Awesome! Thanks for suggesting, we'll see...

so even today I actually saw two older guys going for a ride and one of them had one of these fancy road-bikes where I could only guess it's electric by looking at the center crank/assembly... so it may have been the same brand.

They were going slower/regular pace though, and his (probably fitter) buddy was on a regular road-bike so that's why I was managed to hang around going on my straight-bars regular bike.

cargo e-bikes were all the rage in tahoe this summer. they were everywhere.

yeah probably good for short distances/camping/campers. They're everywhere over here in SF, doubling as minivans with the kids on the back..

I'm in the market for a newer levo. Size S4 for me or S2 for the wifey.

Mine is an S4. I will buy the gen 2 SL as soon as they are in stock.:ride If it has enough oomph for the rides my wife and I do, the Gen 3 Levo will be up for sale. It's the S-Works model and the rear shock was just replaced under warranty. The bike has about 1,250 miles on the clock.

S Works sounds too rich for my blood....
But baller...

My wife and I have Aluminum Levos - it's been a game changer riding around TD as well as the donner lake ridge trail.

i started riding emtbs 3 years ago and it's been amazing.

I did like 12 miles on Sunday to pick up an 11 lb item (fit in the bike bag). Saved me the $50 in Ubers. There and back in 50 min.

e-bikes rock

It comes with a LHRB.

Nice! What made you decide on Intense? I saw my first Intense 2 weekends ago on the Wilder Ranch bluffs, it was an analog bike. They look like a very nice build and well fitted components wise. I'm interested in how the Öhlins work out, I'm sure they will be first rate. Where do you plan on riding?

Seriously, my riding bud Eric has two, we have similar riding styles, so I figured he already did all the research and I didn’t need to.

I have two Altas and two TM’s because of him. I am happy with those. I’ll be happy with the Intense. Plus it is “on sale” for $6K.

I ride Alum Rock park, 5 minutes from the house. But I will do SDF a bunch. And UCSC. Maybe Coe. Yeah, Coe. The electric assist is a game changer. Coe is big and the range extension is needed. Calling Paul Nam…
