EBike Bicycle do you have one?

There are some electric bikes that aren't obvious in what they are like this one: Roadster v2

Wouldn't it be fun to ride up and keep pace with a spandex nazi for awhile with something like that. :laughing

Finally arrived, and on Xmas Eve! Ordered it back in April, delivery estimate of August, and then blah blah, Covid supple chain, etc.

Bike is pretty sweet. Almost as long/tall as my R6 lol, although thankfully "only" 1/5 of the weight.

Congrats. :thumbup

Glad this thread got bumped. What do we think of this?

This is the Vanmoof V. Vanmoofs have been around a little while now(all commuter style bikes I believe), and their gimmick was that the bike has a front hub motor. Front wheel drive bike just seems incredibly weird to me. But this new V model is two wheel drive. Apparently, it’s going to be capable of going very fast, though I don’t think any country will ever allow the potential 37mph they’re claiming they can make it. The pictures you see are just renders, but they’re taking reservations for production sometime in 2022 for $3500.

I personally think it looks really sleek, everything integrated, almost like if Apple made a commuter e-bike this is what it would look like. I think the downside to all that integration would be service and repair would not be for just anyone.

Very cool, close to a moto than a bicycle so won't be for me.

When I do get an e'bike it will be more bicycle than moto and only pedal assist.

Something like the 33lb Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0.

33lbs is very appealing. Very. My wife is getting her son some Radbikes thing that’s almost 75lbs. Yeah it’s got big ol go anywhere tires and a huge battery for long range. But 75 lbs is a lot to pedal around if the battery is dead. Even worse with fat ass tires.

Heads up, my wife’s Turbo Vado SL 5.0 Equipped will be in the grab bag shortly. It is size medium with about 1,000 miles on it. It has a new motor - the original had no problems but the LBS bricked it during an update. Ouch!

As someone who's ridden one for like 5 years now I don't see any additonal value for "speed". I don't ride mine any faster than 16-18 powered on normal city streets just for safety. If it could go 30 I wouldn't take it that high.

Mine is a beast at like 70 lbs which is why it needs the 750 watt motor but then if the bike is lighter and uses a weaker motor then it's usually more expensive. Mine is totally utilitarian/transport and not for fun so I think something under $2000 is best value.

The facebook page of my city has been full of pictures of people's kids with their new e-bikes. :laughing

Considering my current non e bikes weight about 33lbs it would be perfect.

I still have my Schwinn Super Sport from the early 70s and ride once in a while and my Kona Nunu w/ hybrid tire which is my regular on mostly paved trails.

At 65 my MB days are way behind me.

I rode by a guy on an ebike that looks like a real bike and weighs about 33 lbs. We were chatting and he loves it...has 250 watt motor compared to my 750 but once again it's less than half the weight.

But...cost wise, very expensive. If money was no object I'd get the Canyon version of it :)

My road bike is only like 8 or 9 kg :)

Don't sleep on the Ariel Riders

I just received my Ariel Rider 52V XClass,
https://arielrider.com/products/x-class-52v

... and it is SO FUN!
It's not really for exercise, but you certainly can pedal if you want.

For the money, it's an amazing, fun "not-a-motorcycle."

Been drooling on my keyboard over a Ariel Rider Grizzly for more than a month now. $3100 but 2 1000 watt motors and 2 batteries.

Noticed an increase of kids and their e-bike gangs in my neighborhood after Christmas. :laughing

"We" think it's a motorcycle....with the respective dangers (and maybe licensing?!?) GL, have fun!

As for the weights , my mid-old beginner ATB/MTB was 32 lbs some decades ago... my "road" bike is I think 26 lbs. Weights for bikes are listed at the "middle" size: medium.

I have a Turbo Levo that I built from the frame up.

I ride mainly trials at Calero or JNT.

:wave

Wave if you see me on my Turbo Levo SL (green) along with my wife on her Turbo Tero 5.0 in maroon-ish. She will be the 68 year old steaming up hills ahead of me...... :afm199:ride

Nice looking Levo BTW!
