not gonna happen that's just nuts.dude, stfu. It's been explained numerous fucking times that it is done relatively safely, with people who are known and trusted.
If you can't see that, then fuck off and cry.
You did it to Nick too?We were stopped at the bottom of Wildcat and when the light changed, I hit his switch
I only do it to people I've ridden with a lot and know they can handle it.
Doing it to people with short legs that can barely keep their bike upright is not cool, unless its on dirt bikes.
Use more commas, use 'their' instead of 'there', and definitely remove your keys before you do that, lest someone throw your keys away.![]()
In general kill switching happens at a stop. You need someone to explain to you why tapping someone at a stop is not more dangerous than fucking with their bike at speed? That's sad. All ST guy said was fucking around with kill switches and such could be dangerous. And he's right. It is. He never guaranteed anyone would die, but yes that could happen. If you want to play footsy while riding then do it, but telling anyone who thinks it makes an already dangerous hobby even more so, "they ride scared" makes you look none too bright.
Wow, this thread turned into a circlejerk real fast.
I think we can all agree at least not to "horse around" with people who have not specified being down with it?

i'm with Bonerov for sure.
yeah its all about time and place. hitting your buddies kill switch between turn 3 and turn 4 would be stupid and dangerous; but doing so on highway 5 with no cars around to rearend your buddy - good times
just dont do it to DJnick; he gets all butt hurt cuz his crapzuki check engine light comes on sometimes when you hit the kill switchoh wait, that makes it twice as fun

Finally, you think just because they're racers that their antics can't backfire? Most of the time they and everyone else gets away with it. But there are times when they don't. For an example, look at what happened when Kevin Magee did those burnouts at the 89 GP. It ended Bubba's career, devastated Magee and effectively ended his career, and could easily have ended Lawson's career as well. All because of shenanigans.
Read and think: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2005/Jul/1989usgpb.htm
I was there working the race and it was dicey that Shobert was going to live. And you could see the anguish and pain and regret on Magee's part as soon as he hobbled off the track on his bent leg and looked back at the carnage.
Only if you are riding with girls.

As a wise man once said: There's a time and a place for everything. It's called middle school.![]()
and so I devoted my energies to that worthy cause You need someone to explain to you why tapping someone at a stop is not more dangerous than fucking with their bike at speed? That's sad. Even the "simple" kill switch trick could be disastrous. Like you hit his kill switch and don't notice the car or truck running the stop sign from the side street. You motor on oblivious and laughing. Your friend or brother, because of the small delay you cause him gets run over and dies. Think about it.
Nuff said.
