Messing Around While Riding

images.jpg

:laughing

You did it to Nick too?:teeth We were stopped at the bottom of Wildcat and when the light changed, I hit his switch:laughing

I only do it to people I've ridden with a lot and know they can handle it.
Doing it to people with short legs that can barely keep their bike upright is not cool, unless its on dirt bikes.

If its on dirt then anything goes.

:laughing

Use more commas, use 'their' instead of 'there', and definitely remove your keys before you do that, lest someone throw your keys away. :laughing

Funny you should mention that cause one of my buddies went over to snag someone's keys and someone else jacked his in the process lol. I think I ended up with them and went for a ride in some chick's car that I barely knew.

You need someone to explain to you why tapping someone at a stop is not more dangerous than fucking with their bike at speed? That's sad. All ST guy said was fucking around with kill switches and such could be dangerous. And he's right. It is. He never guaranteed anyone would die, but yes that could happen. If you want to play footsy while riding then do it, but telling anyone who thinks it makes an already dangerous hobby even more so, "they ride scared" makes you look none too bright.
In general kill switching happens at a stop.

Wow, this thread turned into a circlejerk real fast.

I think we can all agree at least not to "horse around" with people who have not specified being down with it?

That's was agreed upon very early in the thread, I thought? :dunno

i'm with Bonerov for sure.
yeah its all about time and place. hitting your buddies kill switch between turn 3 and turn 4 would be stupid and dangerous; but doing so on highway 5 with no cars around to rearend your buddy - good times :laughing

just dont do it to DJnick; he gets all butt hurt cuz his crapzuki check engine light comes on sometimes when you hit the kill switch :wow oh wait, that makes it twice as fun :laughing

Only if you are riding with girls.

Im always solo hate riding with bunchs if you mess around sooner or later you become that guy

Finally, you think just because they're racers that their antics can't backfire? Most of the time they and everyone else gets away with it. But there are times when they don't. For an example, look at what happened when Kevin Magee did those burnouts at the 89 GP. It ended Bubba's career, devastated Magee and effectively ended his career, and could easily have ended Lawson's career as well. All because of shenanigans.

Read and think: http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2005/Jul/1989usgpb.htm

I was there working the race and it was dicey that Shobert was going to live. And you could see the anguish and pain and regret on Magee's part as soon as he hobbled off the track on his bent leg and looked back at the carnage.

Do a standing burnout on track after an AFM race, and Barb would have your guts for garters. Don't even want to think about the fine you'd get for that...

Only if you are riding with girls.

Hey!! :ninjaryde

hell i was hoping a certain someone would pass me tonight after bumping my tire repeatedly at stop signs through the mission. had sidestand and kill switch in mind.

As a wise man once said: There's a time and a place for everything. It's called middle school. :cool

Fixed it :thumbup

But then I never did understand all that juvanile pissing contesty stuff.

While my buddies were discovering wedgies, charley horses and arsing about in general, I was discovering that girls had boobies and stuff :teeth and so I devoted my energies to that worthy cause :party

jesus christ dude, are you a special needs child?

:facepalm

love the way you gloss over this gem:

Even the "simple" kill switch trick could be disastrous. Like you hit his kill switch and don't notice the car or truck running the stop sign from the side street. You motor on oblivious and laughing. Your friend or brother, because of the small delay you cause him gets run over and dies. Think about it.

Nuff said.

I was using extreme, ridiculous views to challenge ST's (and others') extreme views to show that a scenario can be made dangerous in anyone's mind.
Equating riding along next to someone and reaching over and killing their motorcycle to a solid chance at death for your poor unsuspecting brethren is beyond ludicrous.

oh, and nbean? please, show me where I said anyone rides scared. pretty sure you're confusing me with someone else. normally not a big deal, but since you threw in the "makes me look none too bright", you can fuck off, too. :twofinger
