Musician thread

That was the bassist before me, I took his spot. Yea... the music was a little harder than I was used to, but it was extremely fun to play and the crowds went insane :thumbup

That's almost the style I'd like to play.

no don't let it die!

I had to sell my amps, and I went to guitar center a few weeks ago to buy a cheap amp to play for a bit then return back to the store. I bought a roland micro cube, this micro cube blows:thumbdown. The speaker is so tiny and it makes the sound thin and tinny. I'm returning it tomorrow

I have a program called guitar rig 3 on my computer but I don't have a proper I/O card/sound card to use as an input for my guitar.

Can someone recommend a good external device that allows me to connect my guitar to my computer? I had a line 6 toneport and it did the job but the drivers didn't work too good with windows 64 bit, and there would be some clipping.
I'm looking for something cheap that gets the job done with minimal latency, I plan to use it just for noodling around, so I don't need high quality recording features.
in the audio.

Just sold my SVT-4 Pro on ebay along with my rackmountable effects. No need for em. I'll get back into playing in a few years :( for now.. i"ll just keep doing studio work.

all the ones that i see are 24 Bit cards and probably dont work with Vista.... what was the bit rate on the old card that "clipped"? Also isent the 6 toneport have adjustable inputs? did it only Clip when you have turned up the gain on the output?

maybe?

Hooli do you play with you Bud's? Maybe possible stand in?

If you mean have I ever jammed with them, no, the only time I played before an audience was at this past summer's OFG pool party. That was fun and I'd like to do something like that again. :thumbup

Good "n00b friendly" guitar forums anyone? I thought I saw a post in the sink awhile back, but as you all know...:rolleyes

yeah that was my post.
I find that I go to specific guitar forums such as gibson forum or marshall forums instead of a broad guitar forum.
check out harmony central for general musician/guitar forum http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/index.php
stay away from ultimate-guitar.com forums, a bunch of pre pubescent kids talking about things they don't know about.

I need a wah pedal and a bass guitar, I'm going to be recording some funky 70s porn music using guitar rig 3:rofl
