Towards the top of Fremont Peak State Park - I’m sure like many pics in this thread, the photo doesn’t do it justice.

Initial Point, Swan Falls, Flat Tire

Went somewhere new today with another XR rider - Initial Point. It has a rather rough road to the top.

Here's the other XR rider. The third rider on the borrowed F750GS decided not to tackle the road to the top.

Got a flat, left the bike there, rode 2-up back to my house, had my wife bring me back with a spare wheel. This is me swapping wheels before riding it back home.

:laughing I saw the caption before the photo loaded and thought, "what the hell's he talking about?"

:laughing here to amuse! Given all your exploring in the area I figured you might have come across this one yourself, though we only found it because I took a wrong turn after Buzzards Lagoon. I am definitely planning to go visit some of the roads you post as you sure know some interesting ones!

Obligatory photo, went for a quick ride on Wednesday after getting my second vaccine shot, had to stop for a glamour shot on Treasure Island.

Getting my second shot next Friday and worried that I may not be in shape to ride on Saturday.

SF has so many interesting neighborhoods so I'm surprised to not see more cityscape shots from there. I saw some murals in Chinatown that would make a cool background.

The road closure used to be at Waterman Gap; it's moved in farther by 2 miles now.

Challenge accepted :-D also hope the second shot goes smoothly, I was a little wonky for two days after mine.

Not a recent photo however, Penny Lane, SF

Rented this from Riders-Share in north SJ last Saturday

The Duke 790 is tiny! At 6’ with 32” inseam, I could flat foot it comfortably, but seat-to-peg distance and angle made it cramped. It felt so so on Calaveras-Felter-Sierra-Mt Hamilton as I was still getting used to its smallness, but by the time I reached Livermore via San Antonio Valley-Mines I felt one with the bike and no longer conscious of its size. It handled great, but the rear shock was harsh on hard bumps. Still, at the end of the day (~7 hrs, 214 miles) my hip and legs were very sore; no problem with my back.

Mt Hamilton. The new pavement (from Quimby to the top) looks wider and flatter (less crowned). Very smooth and clean on Sat.

San Antonio Valley Rd. This monster looks like a mechanical engineer's wet dream! The tires are 6-ft tall, I'm guessing over 1,000 lbs each (without the wheel); it'd take a strong guy to flip a tire this size.

See this monster in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MzOVZHf3y8
