Hudson Valley road.

Cool spot with a neat view.

New signage out on the island, I'm blaming Frieburger for this, an episode of Road Kill in Havasu.
He got stuck in the soft stuff, probably why there is a law now for "safety" while failing the attitude test, throwing dirt.

and this one for Mohave County, this used to be a factory that built camper shells way back before Havasu.

Used to be a "Don't drink & drive", now the sign fits the location, again.

Smells like they are raising skunks here, air scrubbers on the roof.

Memorial Day Ride

A buddy and I took a Memorial Day ride from Eureka, up 101 to Orick and Lady Bird Johnson Grove. The Grove is on Bald Hills road and goes from 101 to 169 and then 96 toward Hoopa. Stayed on 96 to 299 and then back home.
The first picture is from the dirt section of Bald Hills road, near the fire outlook. You can just see the lookout tower on the far right.
The second and third pics are from Martins Ferry bridge.

Yes. It's actually a TL1000S/R. Many trans repairs and other parts swaps have kept it going. Neither of us was expecting 7 miles of DIRT.

I reckon that I've gotten over 80% of the murals around downtown San Jose by now.

6 years ago and today. Two new grandkids and the first time they have come to California. I needed a new screen saver.

And a couple more, verga all day & into the sunset.

I was expecting a little blowback from the first set, without a piece of a bike in the pix. :x

So, how about a small pix of my tail light, parked in my living room, , ,
:teeth

Edit, The McDonalds in Hawthorne, menus don't have prices, the only numbers you see are the calories????

Somewhere between here and there! Someone texted me this photo from an unknown number.

This Tiger has some quirks and feels almost unrideable at first. The rear brake lever sinks down almost 4" without biting, so effectively no rear brake. The friction zone feels like less than 1/4" of lever travel with the lever all the way out. And it has a 3.5" Rox riser which looks and feels like a mini ape. But after I got used to all that it feels like a somewhat more reasonable and less mental version of the BWM S1000XR I rode last weekend.

This bike has the most beautiful shade of icy blue, reminds me of aftershave.

It's fast and handles well, but pretty heavy at 603 lbs (= F 307 + R 296) per my bathroom scale. The crash bars and the center stand look like over 30 lbs together, then there's the stock exhaust. I read the '22 Tiger 1200 lost 55 lbs - should be pretty sweet. The electric windscreen is magic at blocking out wind and noise, but the bike's very warm in the tank-seat area. Wearing a perforated leather jacket and with the windscreen lowered, I was sweaty in mid-60s degree ambient, and mid-50s after sundown didn't feel cold.

Surprisingly, this abandoned RV smelt pleasant like Pacific Ave in Santa Cruz - scented soap and incense.
