A friend of mine was being an askhole yesterday. (If you've never heard that term, it's when a friend asks you for advice and then does whatever they want anyway.)

He always wants my help picking a parlay for any fight night because he knows I watch every UFC card top to bottom and a bunch of other smaller organizations too. So.. sometimes I know what I'm talking about. I gave him 3 fights I was fairly confident on but stay away from one particular fight. He didn't listen and put that 4th fight on his parlay. Probably would have made out with about $500 if he listened.

To be fair, when he listens, more often than not he'll bank some decent cash and as a thank you, he'll pay my tab at the local watering hole. I used to think I'm wasting an opportunity not making the same bets but usually when I bet parlays for myself, I overthink it. I'm not Negrodamous, otherwise I'd be rich and never work a 9-5 job again.

Last week just to entertain myself, I made a 5-fight parlay with 5 dollars. I got a check in the mail a few days ago for $62. :laughing That coulda been a serious payout if I put more money in but that's not why I bet on fights. I just do it with hobo dollars sometimes make things a bit more interesting.
 
Every now and then, I'll see a fight with odds that are so incredibly wrong I can't help myself.

A few years ago, I was in Vegas and I think it was the 2nd or 3rd fight on the prelims and one guy was at +440 and I thought, no... The bookies did not do their homework on this one but I'll take it.

I put down $400 and it only took 1:30 in the first round.

Do the math. $400 at +440 odds. My Vegas vacation was free on top of some delicious steak dinners and expensive liquor I wasn't fancy enough to truly appreciate. :laughing

Normally a "big" bet I believe in is like $40, not $400, and that's still rare.
 
Made it for the Easter sunrise ride. Currently stuck on 58 with an empty tank, good thing my riding buddy has a bigger tank.

Did I find a chair to sit in? Yes! Is the chair mostly broken? Also yes! Will I be more diligent about topping off my tank in the future? Maybe!

Hard to compete against China. I was buying magnetic mounts for holding work related measuring. Local vendor was selling them for $200 each, imported from Germany. Was also buy prism spheres that the same mount’s hold and from same vendor for $250 each.
Checked with a fab shop to see if they could beat those prices, they quoted $20 a piece more to fab locally.

Got to checking options online and found a Chinese outfit that sells one of the apparatuses I need but not the other, however they said they could fab the other also. I sent some pics and specs and they respond saying $27 a piece so now just waiting on delivery.
Cool to support local business but that’s hard to compete with.

great success today. watched what i could of the sunrise. saw sfmc john. so lots of moto bros. had a great ride. felt the love for my SMR. god that bike is silly. :love
 
Made it to Tehachapi, had excellent BBQ. Staying at the Santa Fe Inn. It's cool, but, I got loud TV neighbor tonight and then when getting into bed I accidentally exposed the mattress... I think my immune system is strong enough for this...

Hopefully I can drown out loud TV person next door and get some sleep so I can knock out 450 miles to Phoenix (or somewhere in between) tomorrow.

That's a fun option!

Cold and foggy morning here in Tehachapi, between the weather and the bike acting up yesterday (as usual I guess at this point) I'm not all that excited about the ride. I currently sipping my coffee and hoping things warm up a bit by 9.

I adjusted one of my HID projector headlights down last night. Can’t wait until dark to try to adjust the other one. The shop was sayin I “need a new headlight”. I wonder if that’s because it’s prone to fall of the adjuster?!?

How was the weather up north yesterday?

Down here, the rain was nice but I have not heard a thunder crack that lasted about 20 seconds like and that loud in a long time and never here.

I guess Thor was busy...
