Wow, what a trip! The 2022 One Show was amazing... as always. There were close to 300 motos on display this year. Add to that a dozen or so custom cars, stunt shows, trials demonstrations, the Seattle Cossacks Stunt and Drill Team, several live bands, lots of moto art on display, the 21 helmets display, and a bunch of Portland local vendors. It was an amazing event this year

I started by building a bike-in-a-box to keep the bike dry for the trip up and back.

My good friend Alan came along so we just barely had space for the bike and all of our gear. Rather than travel straight up highway 5, we traveled northeast from Weed up to Bend OR. In Bend I picked up a cheap set of CBR600F3 wheels that I found on FB Marketplace. According to google maps this route would add an extra hour of travel time, but I saved the $75 the seller wanted for shipping. Turns out Alan and I both thoroughly enjoyed this route. The geography between Bend and the OR/WA border was spectacular with wide plateaus, large rock formations, and two river gorges (Deschutes and Columbia). In the distance we could see Mt Bachelor and Mount Hood. The views and scenery were just spectacular. (I was driving, but Alan may have gotten some photos. If so, I'll try to post later)
Thursday was load in day. The process is to sign-in. Then wheel the motorcycle to a photo area. Then wait to be assigned a location for the show. This year the show was in the Zidell Ship Yards building. It was an amazing location.
After getting my bike to where I thought would be its final location, I was walking out to my truck when a bike in line for photos caught my eye. "That looks like something I'd build"... I blurted out. Alan reacted with the exact same comment. When I returned, Alan says "guess what? That bike belongs to Chris Cosentino!" Holy shit! We both know Chris very well from the M/C Chassis Forum. Chris had driven out from the east coast with his still unfinished project. Finished or not, the thing is f'n amazing. Hossack style front end. And not just the chassis, but Chris built the engine using a Ducati Panigale head, piston, cylinder liner, and transmission. The seat is very temporary and will replaced with a proper race seat/tail in time. Anyway, very cool to see Chris at The One Show with his Hyper Mono.
Originally they placed my bike in the middle of the space next to a Daytona Special, which I though was very appropriate. But Friday morning it had been moved to along a wall. Oh well, its still in the show
