The NHL Thread, 2012/2013 season

I'll put it like this. If Raffi Torres scores a goal for the Sharks, I'll cheer. When his name is announced/confirmed as the goal scorer, I will expend all available energy into the most ferocious BOOOOO i can muster.

laying out Kesler with the same type of head shot he gave Hossa last year and then two handed slashing Burrows, Kassian, etc. on the way off the ice, with 5 minutes left in Game 7 of the series and the Sharks up 4 to 1 in the game. Would be worth it for the post-game rioting that would ensue alone.

I would pay to be there. I hate that F---ing team with a passion. So much so, that I have 1,700 followers who agree. :rofl

Sharks looked great in game 1, it's great to see them not get pushed around and not do anything about it. They looked solid, and that is hard to say about the Sharks usually in the playoffs.

Something is different, but then again being a die-hard Sharks fan I'm biased and will think this every year I'm sure.

^they didn't get pushed around because other teams must account for certain players. Much like when sj had mush, buster, Scotty t and suter. They now have a few who must be respected.and they have more skill.

No, he hasn't converted me and he never will. I've always recognized how good he was, both physically and as a 3rd/4th line winger, and I realize he adds value to the team and that he's a warrior. But I will never be a fan of his.

The perfect scenario for me would be for him to play great all series and then get suspended for the rest of the year after laying out Kesler with the same type of head shot he gave Hossa last year and then two handed slashing Burrows, Kassian, etc. on the way off the ice, with 5 minutes left in Game 7 of the series and the Sharks up 4 to 1 in the game. Would be worth it for the post-game rioting that would ensue alone.

This is great and I wouldn't shed a tear. I think Torres has more to do in these playoffs besides one series though. Long term the sharks need him. And it's an opportunity for him to redeem himself.

You know what, watch Torres on the puck. He has some REALLY good hands. That's why he is playing on the 2nd line right now and getting some good ice time. His stock is going up..

Torres is sure making it hard to keep disliking him....

I didn't know much about Torres' history, but I'm glad he is producing in a morally acceptable way! The only Sharks jerseys I've considered buying were Ricci, Thornton & Marleau but Torres is climbing the ranks.

The play offs have been pretty amazing thus far! Can't wait for the homecoming on Saturday. Anyone going to the game?

Don't do it, long time Sharks fans will glare at you as though you're actively insulting the team. Reference the 2006 Conference Semifinals between the Sharks and Oilers.

Some would say, and I would agree, this hit changed that series against the Sharks.

I remember that hit & series, but not Torres? Anyhow glad he is contributing!

As per the jersey they're too expensive & I'm too indecisive..

SJ is in Vancouver's heads! haha. Great to see. when Henrik Sedin starts taking swings at players and getting penalized, you know their goose is cooked.

but as Purdy (of all people) said this morning: this series is decided. but it's not over. hopefully the Sharks will bear down and take care of binness tomorrow.

LETS GO SHARKS

I expect Vancouver will cut out the penalties and concentrate on bringing the puck to the net more. The 'long shot-hope for a rebound putback' strategy is not working. They need to bring the puck to the net and get their chances closer in. So far, they have played right into the Sharks hands.

If the Sharks can sweep Vancouver, that will be as satisfying to me as winning the Cup.

Funny thing is, the Canucks seem to be suffering from the same thing the Sharks were prior to the trade deadline. A lack of team speed and under production from their superstars. The Canucks are not a very fast team, they're not an intimidating team and their punk tactics have just gotten old and tired. Apparently, the refs seem to agree.

I feel this is appropriate.

Great game! Terrible call at the end to win it on but I'll take it 100%!
