Their offense moved the ball a lot in that game, it was the interceptions and lack of defense that killed them. The Buccaneers had a very stout defense and a run-first attack would not have worked.

But hey Tim Brown gets his name in headlines again. :laughing
 
If you're Wes Welker, where do you go next year? Give the Pats the finger for not re-signing long term last season and come to the Niners? :teeth He wont catch as many balls but that would be an unstoppable offense.
 
Welker's best seasons are behind him at 32, and he will probably disappear in a non-Brady run offense. I doubt BB and the Pats will offer him a long term contract.
 
Thought I read that Welker thinks the Pats will again hit him with the franchise tag. Big money, but only for one season. He's still really good, the Dolphins were such idiots to let him go to the Patriots for next to nothing. Dammit.
 
Am I the only one who thinks Welker is washed up and Brady is making him look good?
 
Franchise tag gets him $11+ mil for 1 season. Probably get 3 years $30 on the market with $15 guaranteed or something.

Yards gained is quickly becoming irrelavent when measuring players.

It's a passing league. Guys are passing for 5,000 yards and breaking records for number of passes attempted in a season. Rules are in place that basically make tackling against the rules

I mean, I'd probably take him in SF because who knows how Manningham will be after he gets his bionic knee, and I think they're going to need another WR next year and a TE to replace Delanie Walker, too.

Any team would love to have Welker, but why would NE give up their best WR? They have no one to take his place. In fact, their #2 receiver is older than Welker. :laughing
