Nah, we're just breathing a sigh of relief not to be carrying his contract anymore. Now that he's been busted down to broke ass rates, I wouldn't be shocked if we ended up signing him again in a back up role. Iron Tom knows how to handle him. We kept him around with this crap for YEARS until his production just wasn't worth the first string contract we were carrying him on.
 
True story. Mark "Bucky" Davis was seen on Sat. night at Forli in Danville. Dude comes into a restaurant at 9 p.m., with his own reading light, sets it up at a table and begins reading the newspaper.

If I was rico, I'd have whole rooms just for the wingback chair and paper....Guess he liked the food, I dunno, my informant left before he had any.

ESPN is killing me. The radio isnt any better. I just want to hear Steve Young's and Gruden's thoughts on the game and then go silent until Sunday.

They won't release him. Baalke and Harbaugh aren't that dumb. The DAY he is released, Arizona will sign him. They're not going to let that happen.

He has a $1M roster bonus that is owed when the 2014 Season "officially" begins, which is sometime in early March, and his $8.5M salary becomes fully guaranteed on April 1st.

$8.5M is very reasonable for the "3rd rated passer" in the NFL, etc.

Someone will give up a 3rd round pick for him. Cleveland maybe.

Smith has showed quite a bit of class through the whole thing, I think they owe him a release out of respect, because he could've easily pulled a Jacobs' type move, and still can, but isn't.
