The Official 2016/2017 NFL Thread

Loved the halftime show. Lady Gaga is one of the few artists that can still dance and sing in pitch. I really hope ATL keeps putting Brady on his a$$!

Great game. The AFC continues to prove they're the best.

Some funny meme's out there over the super bowl, this one was funny!

every sports outlet this AM.

Billicheat is better than Walsh. Brady is GOAT over Rice or Montana.

Once again the South fucks up and the rest of the country suffers.

/sigh

I was yelling at the tv when they were on the 20-something with 4min to play, "JUTHT KIKIT NAOOOOOO!!". Sometimes you gotta ditch the optimism and recognize when the pendulum swings harder than meatspin.

yeah, but after 15-17 years of Belichick & Brady, I'm finally starting to (begrudgingly) give it to them.

Having said that Brady isn't going to leave the game til they take him off an a cart (Gawd forbid), I still dream it's Khalil Mack that helps him to that cart. :laughing

Hopefully in an AFC championship game. :p

yeah this one is kinda that nail in the coffin for me on the argument that the Niners of yore might have a more potent legacy :nchantr

i'm a shameless homer but not a blindly ignorant one

some of Brady's touch passes to the sideline were too fucking perfect. like seriously just gtfo with that shit. who does that?

and i've spent the last 5 years watching Kraepernick /s :laughing

that NE defense could be the NFL's Golden State Warriors with all of their interchangeable parts. aside from their D linemen their back 7 can all cover for each other, can all tackle like a champ, and can adapt to plays on the fly like few others.

i can appreciate their greatness... but it hurts

Aren't Brady and Venateri the only players from that first championship of theirs in the league? That's endurance.

I also think Walsh had at least 2 more in him with that team, but was cut short because DeBartolo and Policy didn't want to lose Seifert.

The Patriots will never have success like this again no matter how "prepared" BB is, Brady is truly a generational player. If BB is smart, he'll leave with Brady, but I doubt he would.

Pretty much. Brady's passes were precise, almost elegant in that fourth quarter. It was just up to his receivers to catch them. I always thought the two Dans, Marino and Fouts, had touches like that but didn't have t either the time, the line and perhaps agility and perception that Brady has. Brady has been in it so long he just sees everything possible.

Hey, I'm a Montana guy, my pulse still goes up a bit when he shows up on some sports set, but Brady seems to have exceeded him in any way I can imagine...

They were making fun of Shanahan today on the radio but to me, it was Atl defense that just shut down. Because Brady did exactly what he's been doing all year, tons of relatively short to medium passes to his receivers. I just keep feeling this was the collapse of the Cinderella or at least not used to prime time team against a team that is basically in uncharted waters in terms of continually coming back for championship seasons.

I thought of the Warriors too, a bit.. Supportive owner, great hC, great key player and the ability to get the most out of anyone on the team, like the dubs bench is proving this year.

And I have to tip my hat to Edelman. That guy is special, both in toughness, agility and endurance. Man. But it keeps pointing back to a system that utiliizes whatever talent comes its way. it doesn't hurt that Brady doesn't suck max salary out of their budget too. More big shots could learn from that in various sports..

If Belichick doesnt go out with Brady, we'll see about his system. That would test it. He did okay in the first four games, tho.

Just imagine....Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round of the 2000 draft! :wow

..and Joe Montana was taken at the end of the 3rd round.

Just goes to show how badly scouts judge especially the quarterbacks.

Felt like as the game went on, the ATL defense just got tired. They were on the field way to much
