Thoughts on SUV?

we've done skip barber 3 times now

once was overnight while we were parked
two were at stop signs, dead stopped, with no escape (1 drunk the other stoned, reaching for his pipe)
one was avoidable (she merged in on someone who wasn't paying full attention/texting)

"Overland Summit" is a household name now? Never heard of it. Is it just a trim package?

It's 2 packages

the overland (trim & tech)
the summit (suspension& engine)

Sticker on it was 53k - no way am I paying sticker :laughing I could haggle 5k easy.

:Popcorn

Let me know how that works out for you. :laughing

I'm in no rush to buy and the overland summit isn't the one we are looking for. Int/Ext color combo and engine/powertrain are more important to us then packages. Ultimately, she would want the limited. If I can get an O/S for $48, we would step up.

We still have others to test drive ;)

oh and USAA just quoted me $48,128 to $49,628 for it :laughing through their buying network ;)

USAA FTMFW!!!!! :party

Definitely the way to go for new cars.

Costco was cheaper for me than USAA. YMMV...clearly.

Kelly (my Kelly, anyway) is still considering the new Heeps but is also still apprehensive about the transmission issues.

when merging she's supposed to yield to the traffic on the bigger street ;)

why don'tcha get a Mercedes GLK or GL 55? Just curious

Yes, the Costco quote for the accord is cheaper then the USAA quote so I assume the Heep would be as well.

She was merging from the HOV lane to the right, in order to exit the freeway. We had a clean merge and then bump... tapped up as like 10ish. No structural damage, just needed a new bumper, again.

PS - I have an amazing body shop :|

When looking for an SUV, she/we want something that looks like an SUV. Not a minivan. If we wanted a minivan, we would get a Sporty or a Sprinter

i like that you consider Sprinter a Mini Van. Ever drove one? that thing is huge

:laughing agreed - I've put MANY MANY miles behind a sprinter. Toured the US for a year in one.

Could always get a slightly older SUV and spend some of the extra cash on road armor bumpers and such :laughing

the accessories market on a depreciable asset is a fools market :laughing

Not all Sprinters are the same size. Furthermore, there's the Transit to consider now.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but I've found Truecar.com to be very useful when buying a new vehicle. Anyone else used it?

I used it when I bought my FiST. They said I underpaid. :teeth

Not sure I trust them more than a rough guideline.

According to TC, the price we paid for our newest SUV is so low, it's not even in their charts.
