So not only do "clean" diesels pollute more than gasoline cars, now we discover that millions of them are polluting even more than that. Nice.

But wait, there's no need for the EPA and CARB! The manufacturers will do it on their own without oversight!

And now more have joined the list...

Is anyone here actually surprised?

Without defining what "the list" refers to I am not clear what you are suggesting? As it stands Volkswagen remains the only auto manufacture accused of installing a cheat device or SW to have the car perform differently under the test conditions. The article you link makes no suggestion or accusation that Honda, Nissan, Mercedes, etc have done anything illegal.

I can't wait until the big clean diesels truck companies get found out too.

This is hilarious. I bet every industry cheats like a mofo outside of inspection time. Greed always wins. Awesome.

Also 10k in a week is pretty normal for "luxury" European cars...Lol..jk...I'll buy it from you for 15k cash come Monday.

I have a special hatred for CARB because they don't follow the 25 year rule that the EPA does. Who decided that only cars made before 1964 are classics?

That being said, good riddance to diesel. The cars that run it are noisy, smelly snotboxes here in the US anyway so I'm happy they probably won't be sold here again. I just hope the government makes VW buy back all their shitty cars so the people that bought them don't get screwed too much.

Wait, actually the only one surprised should be the one just talking about "not an industry wide thing at all.." ..I wonder who that was...Kornholio :laughing

That doesn't mean they're not doing something illegal. It just means that this particular article is not suggesting it :laughing (despite saying they perform significantly better in the laboratory)

It's still not industry wide at all. Funny how the big boys still haven't been indicted. :twofinger

There's nothing "classic" about a one-vehicle smog wave 1960's auto. Gawd those dinosaurs spew more pollution than 10 VW diesels combined. :laughing

Owners like to say that the number of classic cars (and the miles driven on each) is too low to worry about. That's like saying that Polynesian drivers should get a break from traffic tickets because they're such a small population of drivers. :laughing

Also official word from my vw dealership after having my hpfp repaired is a software update :| within 30 days
