Warriors 16-17 Season

Wtf! How do you lose to a team that's 15-30? Iggy and David West out can't be that big of a deal on a team 15 games under .500.

Was a lucky shot by Waiters with 3 seconds left. Klay was playing good defense.

On the bright side you won't hear it from Cavs fans, they got beat by a Pelicans team that didn't even include Unibrow Davis. It was their 5th loss in the last seven games.

It's almost time for the Coach to fire Lue and then make a run to the Finals.

On the plus side, if any of you saw it... NC State upset Duke at home. First time they've done it at Duke since 1995. Great game - both of those teams have future NBA players for sure.

Look what popped up on ESPN ;) Davidson College intramural softball champs... Featuring guess who on the far right...

Don't you remember last year? Most of their season losses came from the teams with the worst records.

True true. Saw on twitter a sports write said the Warriors seem to be like a cat playing with their food the first two quarters of the game.

I do feel that some maybe many of their games they are behind the scenes trying different lineups and toying with teams, seeing if different things work or not.

Warriors don't get beat this year. They have bad shooting outings that they don't adjust to. They beat themselves. They couldn't even hit their penalty shots, which was true of the xmas day game against Cleveland.

I don't know the answer, but on a night when they can't hit anything and the other team is hitting everything, they lose. It's that simple. There was some stat on KNBR today by an analyst that they are 3 and 4 on games where they lead by less than 7 points in the 4th quarter. I just laughed at the radio. THOSE are the games when they get into a shooting slump. It's no more complicated than that.

The only facile remedy is going into the paint more when they can't hit their long shots and either achieving layups or getting fouled. But I know that at any moment, they might return to their 3 groove and radically alter score. I thought that the Heat didn't have such great centers that they couldn't have tried that more...

It's up to Kerr to make those adjustments. But they're all human, they lost to an Eastern conference team and I love em so I don't care.

On the Sunday morning game, the network put up a graphic of all these markers of accomplishments this year and the Warriors were first in every singe one of them, except maybe 3 pt shooting. I have no basis to complain. Wish I had a screenshot of that.

i'm pretty sure Miami actually beat them, and when Waiters made that shot they were fighting off a pretty furious comeback attempt by the Warriors.

Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Well, yes and no. After having just beat three top teams, it's hard to make the argument that Miami is at those other teams level. Then a person is left to figure, wow, is Miami a diamond in the rough or what? The dubs keyed in on Harden and just eliminated the presumptive MVP. Why didn't that happen with Waiters? Its not that's he's better than Harden....

I dunno. If their close games and actual losses were consistently to the top teams, I wouldn't so opine and I do want to give credit. Waiters had the game of his life apparently (haven't seen many Miami games). I think the Heat coach had fortune fall in his lap that none of the shooters were hitting it last night. Maybe it's just an NBA thing....

KNBR morning guys were joking that the players must have been out at some kind of sex foam party or something, too many distractions, etc.... Ha.

I feel like that's when they shoot themselves in the foot. Trying to rack up 3's and end up missing, which basically amounts to a turnover for the opponent. Their most frustrating losses last year were like that. Instead of adjusting and driving the paint, they doggedly try to force 3's.

Lebron bitching publicly he needs a backup pg is hilarious. They'll likely sign Norris Cole or Mario Chalmers (both aren't on active rosters right now). They'll have to get rid of some guys though. Who knew with JR Smith going down, it would affect the team this much.

Holy fuck, can they stop fouling guys shooting 3s!!! That's 7 points they just gave up via two fouls.

In related news, the dysfunctional Kings beat the Cavs in Cleveland in overtime. That's 3 losses in a row and 4-6 in last 10. Lebron is looking for a new coach, owner, pointguard.

Saw the highlights, LBJ tosses up a brick to try and win the game (have we seen that before? LOL), Love missed a free throw that coulda given them the lead, and Korver left his man wide open to hit the 3 that won the game for the Kings in OT. Sacto earned it....

The 'Melo to the Cavs talk is heating up, but I don't think he helps 'em. He would, however, make a very rare appearance in the playoffs. I always thought that what spoke volumes about Carmelo was when the Knicks went on that "Lin-sanity" run a few years back, Carmelo was hurt. When he came back, the offense had to change to accommodate him, and the run came to an end. He's a great player, he just doesn't make a team better. :dunno

In a way, it almost would signal a surrender.

Draymond and Klay got selected as All-Star Reserves. Let's hope Kerr will do a lineup with the Warriors Big 4 + Westbrook for the lulz.

And maybe a lineup with KD, WB, and Harden on the same team. Who would've thought they would play together? :teeth:laughing
